Who is making more money jagex or gold farmers.

So who is making the most coin. Well id say the gold farmers unless jagex has a underground team selling bulk gp to gold farm websites. And i think that is not the case. It must sting jagex tho to see its members make more bank than the game itself. You can tell by the way the updates. Sof, soloman , etc. When you think about it you have got to laugh. I wonder how many people this game supports income wise.

 

After actually reviewing the numbers, it's quite simple to say Jagex.

 

Jagex, Adverts and membership make them a lot of money.

Jagex, there is no way gold farmers combined are even getting close the to 72,000,000 USD annual PROFIT jagex is pulling, thats the 2011 profit margin according to wiki with a small round down .

 

jagex, They make $8 (per account) a month on p2p. Now take all the advertisement money (more then memberships most likely since they have whored it out). The spins people buy, and lastly the cosmetics people buy from solomans. they realize that majority of the people playing f2p are little kids so they ran the "flaming skull" and "golden katana" which got all the kiddies to buy memberships, and even olders to buy the cards and put it onto secondary accounts.

I think jagex makes more money.

 

I think jagex is making more money. Imagine if they also have the goldselling.

 

Assuming each gold farming account makes 600,000gp/hr and they run 24/7/365 (NO DOWNTIME) [Which is impossible due to bot updates, rs updates, vps downtimes etc... Just humor me...]

And they dump the gold at .50/mil it would make 2,628,000,000$/yr.

That versus "72,000,000 USD annual PROFIT jagex is pulling"...

My math is flawed due to outlying factors but

 

Im betting jagex does, because the biggest gold sites make only in the millions and with rs releasing SoF and SGS that has also made them a lot (Jagex is a Multi-BILLION dollar corporation due to the fact that they have WAY more games then just rs)

 

Jagex, they make so much from membership and advertisements. Possibly all gold farmers combined make more, but even then I don't think so.

For JAGEX, not RuneScape. They have FunOrb... how is that WAY more games? Thats tops 10 more games.

 

Jagex.. Their turnover from subscriptions alone in 2010-2011 was 43Million.

That would equal 95,555,555M at a price of $.45.. I don't find it likely that even all the Gold Farmers together get close to that.

 

Fairly sure even the total amount of gp in game about 28 trillion wouldn't be more than RS's annual gross income. Just off memberships maybe 200k subs = $1.2mil/ month which is equivalent to 2,400,000 mil = 2,400,000,000,000 which is 2.4 trillion/ month or 28.8tril/ year. This is off memberships alone. Net income would be much lower but as gross they definitely make more than all gold farmers probably even their net income is more than gold farmers.

 

Really stupid question to ask really you should know your self that obv Jagex makes more money + its a company.

 

Definitely Jagex. They are making over 6 figures of cash annually just by selling membership and adverts. Stupid people buy spins from the wheel = another 3-5 million dollars. Kids buy makeovers from Soloman= 2-3 millions dollars. Jagex makes a killing...

 

When people think of Jagex they only think of RuneScape, don't forget Jagex has multiple games they're also profiting off of. Easily said, Jagex.

Jagex by far, i mean they own the game, get tons of adverts, they make money to maintain runescape, and pay it's workers so EASILY jagex. I'm sure the gold farmers are making a TON but not what jagex is making.

Here is a nice little article to read. This guy calculates Jagex's worth to be around 57 million pounds. So, I am going to have to say Jagex. Hands down.
