I'm currently working on a support forum/general online community, and I was wondering what are some concepts I should implement on the forum?

It's going to be aimed at ultimately being an uplifting, positive community that caters to members looking for a place for support, help, advice and people to talk to/relate with.

I'd like to see if I could get some input on how I should go about this, if anybody feels they can give their valuable 2 cents.

    Thanks.

Well not sure if this helps exactly but if i was to start a forum like that i would make different sections..
    ~1.Problems at school
    ~2.Problems at work
    ~3.Confidence Issues/Insecurities
    ~4.Section for people contemplating suicide
etc etc. and have staff of the website answer peoples posts/ talk out there problems with them. any negative feedback on threads would end up with users being banned, because it is a "positive forum"
hope ya catch my drift broski

I highlighted the keywords in your suggestion. "Problems", "Issues", "Insecurities", "Contemplating Suicide". This is focusing on the negatives of life, and although these are very real problems that people must sometimes unfortunately face, our goal on my forums would be to focus on the positives of life. Yes, we will offer help and guidance for those in need, but the direction I have is to create ways for those people to refocus their energy.

It's hard to explain. I do intend on creating sections where members can seek help, share their story, and so on.. but I don't want to make multiple sections for that.

It would be hard to build a community around those two subjects, because so many forums have this implemented in their site. Ultimately it wouldn't be worth creating.
