So I bought an account at powerbot and today it got stolen?

Okay guys, so here is the deal: I spent 130 bucks on an account for my young brother at powerbot, the transaction was made yesterday morning and he played on the account all yesterday, since the purchase, and a bit today untill one time that he tried to logg in and everything was changed.

We filled a scam report against the user and the moderators of the site are currently reviewing it.

During the trade the dude gave us some information of the account however we're trying to recover it and everytime it pops up "failed".

Is there any possibilty that we can manage to get it back? It was my first time dealing on a gaming site and didnt know there were such faggots that stole money just for a game.

Editing to add information: The money was sent with PayPal however his account was unverified

The guy who we purchased off looked promising, he had around 20 feedbacks and he also seemed like a friendly person

 

An account is always recoverable, he could of quite easily have given you false information. If he is also recovering it from the original IP he will also have another advantage. 20 feedback also isn't that much :S. Sorry for your loss. It is usually safer to make an account and pay someone to skill it.

 

Probably not, you were likely given false information. I'd say don't trade with someone for something like an account unless they have over 100, solid vouches where the other party went first. Accounts will always be recoverable to the original owner no matter what.

I don't think it's possible to get the account back anymore. But I think there is a way to get your money back on Paypal if you file a dispute, right?

 

Scammers always seem friendly, they try to lull you into a false sense of security prior to taking for all the trade is worth. Always be on edge when dealing with strangers over the internet. As RwmRS2 said, you should only purchase accounts from extraordinarily trusted people, like a mod or something. Even then I'd be skeptical, a much better way to go would be to create an account yourself so you have all the original details and then pay $130 for it to be botted to the stats you desire, or just purchase some premium bots and do it yourself.

 

20 feedbacks on PB is nothing.

Like those above said, accounts can always be recovered by the original owner. If you're dealing with future PB trades, I'd suggest trading only those with 150+ Feedback if dealing with this amount of money.

 

It is so hard to find an honest account seller these days.
I think it's easier to just bot the skills yourself than buying an account.
I'm at 2299 right now on an account right now. Sometimes I play, sometimes I let the bot do the work. And yes the bots I use are FREE (simba)

 

Thanks for the replies guys, the account wasn't for me and botting on a computer would consume a lot of electricity. Its a shame that we got scammed but one learns from mistakes.

 

You could always get a VPS or something, that way you wouldn't consume any of your own electricity.
