    Castlewars Basics - Scoring Guide

Hey, it's been 11 months since my last guide here on Sythe... That guide was RWT'ing with Uncut Dragonstones ;) - Ever since, I've dropped off the bug abusing scene and moved on to Castlewars, so I decided to write a guide on a part of what may be Runescapes best minigame.

Try to get as many players as you can into a clan chat, communication is vital!
The best possible armor for a scorer is always Mage Defence, get what you can from the following list:

    Armadyl > Karil's > Black Dragonhide
Infinity Boots > Jester Boots / Magic Boots
    Fury > Glory
    Seers Ring
    Master's Wand & Mage book
    Castlewars Bracelet

Bring a decent bow and ammo just in case in your inventory.

When the game starts, you'll want a full inventory of bandages, then head down to the supply room on the first floor. Heal with 4 bandages and get 2 barricades and 2 explosive potions.

When holding the enemy flag, be aware of your surroundings! Look around for godswords, mages, or barricades. If you come across a Mage, use protect from magic, logically, and the same for melee. If you see a barricade ahead, try to maneuver around it quickly without stopping... Or prepare to use an explosive potion ASAP, remember- the key is speed.

When being chased... Set barricades in spots where there's only 1 square to run by, such as the small door in your enemy castle, or one of the squares directly off the center bridge.

Refrain from taking long ways such as the stepping stones or underground, as they are time consuming and can give the opposing team an opportunity to get ahead.

As soon as you score, get back to your respawn room to prepare for your second scoring trip.

If you see someone trying to score on your way to their base... Depending on their skill, level, health, and chasers... You can determine whether to escort them to your base, OR run to the opposite base to get the flag once he scores, aka 'Rebound'

These are very basic guidelines, keep your eyes open and always play situationally. For instance, if you're winning with 2 minutes left by 1 and your opponents have their own flag... You should temporarily defend for the remaining time to secure your victory. Or if you see an enemy flagholder running by, pull out your weapon and take him out ;)

    Happy scoring :p
