Report or post?

I've always wondered, if a thread lacks pictures/doesn't follow the sticky requirements etc, should we pertain to posting on said thread telling the OP what is needed, or do we just report the thread to be closed due to lack of so and so? Or... both?

 

I say both. But if someone's already posted what they need to add to their thread then don't re-post it. It'd come under spam.

 

Both would be most effective.

 

I always post it if nobody else has, but always report it.

 

I was told just to report it otherwise it may come off as back seat moderating.
