Yeah I need help heres the problem, Im 15 years old and ive been catholic my whole life and my whole family is catholic. I go to Catholic Highschool and I am on my second and final step of conformation ( final step to becoming a a true catholic). The problem is im not sure if I believe in God any more or the creation story or any other bilical stories and im kind of heading towards the whole sciency evolution kind of way. I dont know if I should tell my family about this or talk to my school priest or something. Im just really confused on what to belive right now and some help would be appreciated.

Yea i would say talk to your school priest. That would be the best beacuse then you can talk to your parents with the school priest understanding. If you know what i mean.

I actually believe the exact opposite.

Juvenile, you'll have to make the judgement of whether or not you think your parents would encourage or discourage you to do what you think/believe in.

I think that a priest hired by the school, who is also a man of god, wouldn't support your disbelief in Catholocism.

If you tell anyone, I believe it should be your parents.

You make a very good point. And i think i might change my mind about my statement. The man is hired to teach children the way of the Catholic community. Your parents still want you to become a catholic because it is their bliefs. I suggest you tell your parents you dont belive and there is nothing they can do about it. And then you get sent to a normal school.

Yeah but part of the problem is my parents wouldnt let me give up catholicism they keep me in conformation and make me continue it. And im not sure if I could tell my parents it would seriously break there hearts. The priest also works at one of the local churches.

Well there's a right time for everything. So first find out if it is actually something you want to do. Put some thought into it. And if you still want to give it up, then find the right time to talk to your parents and tell them what's going on. Be real about it and talk to them in a reasonable way. Really for parents to force their kids to do something they don't believe in is a fault on their part.

But make sure that you make it clear to your parents that you do not want to do it ONLY because you do not believe in it. Otherwise this could go completely wrong.

I think that you should tell your parents, if you believe in science more then you should. Your parents should respect what you believe.

i think your sig pic of the pope says it all.
if you don't believe then just tell them, that simple. Don't go 'yeah I believe' when you don't cause it'll just do damage in the long run.

Also, as a man of religion, he is bound to listen to you, and to do his best to offer advice.

You could speak to your parents, or the priest ; It makes no real difference.

Maybe just go through conformation and just wait a few months and think things over and then make your decision

Just think for yourself if any of it is true. If you talk to your priest, get a pen and paper, write down what he says, and go research it before you decide to make a decision. It would be much better to be informed as possible before making this kind of decision.

You clearly have no idea of any of the concepts of evolution yet still make the straw-man argument that evolution is the only opponent to creationism, when in most cases, abiogenesis is the only concept that is in conflict with Creationism.

immorality has a point there.. but i believe you should ask someone you trust, cause someone you trust might be feeling the same if he/she is catholic also if i were u i might get what people think about believing or not, go to different people, people who are catholic and some who arn't get more then just one point of view
