Hmmm sigs and the government...

Ive been thinking recently, why the hell are the government taxing sigs/fags
and then telling people to stop smoking? wouldn't this just fcuk the governments
money takings. I mean over half of there money comes from tax on sigs yet they tell people not to smoke. Also banning smoking in public places, was the a bad idea or good? [It has been banned in the Uk not sure about anywhere else]

I don't really understand your post, but to answer your question...

Yes, banning smoking in public areas was a GREAT thing. This helps to stop people getting exposed to second hand smoke.

 

You're forgetting the massive medical costs that smoking causes.

In the long term, less smoking would mean more money for the government, because it's costing them more through these medical costs than the revenue they make from taxing the sales of cigarettes.

 

Not really sure what you mean, but I'm really glad they banned smoking in congested area's. Just because someone wants to kill their life early why should they do that to others?

 

they have to state that smoking is bad, but they arent the ones running around telling people to stop, its other people telling people to stop. the taxes are so they can make money...

 

Yes but the thing is they are contributing to people to help them stop people smoking if that sort of makes sence.

they arent trying to make you stop, but by law they have to make it known that you can get cancer and die from smoking. there will never be a day when the police come and take a pack of sigs out of your pocket when you are at home because they dont want you smoking them.
