I have no idea if you could, but seriously... why? It's $47. Do you understand court fees? Not worth it, even if it is possible.

Rare Names beat me to it. Court fees are much higher than $47 ... but if your lucky try to get on Judge Judy shows ect. As I will love to see her rip into people about this over a video game.

No, you couldn't take someone to court, but you could report them to the authorities.

Technically you could take them to court, because in matters over the amount of $20 are entitled to a trial by jury... it's in the constitution. This is however assuming you and the scammer are both american. I doubt a foriegn country would extredite a citizen over a matter of $47. Just alert the authorities.

I wouldn't bother wasting all that time going through the process for a measly $47 USD.

DryTears scammed me out of $47 when I was trading with him. DryTears, I have reported you to the IC3, Internet Crime Complaint Center. You have one chance to give me back my cash. That is through the dispute I have open on paypal. I will not press any charges if you happen to refund my money. The IC3 would sponsor my court case, thus I wouldn't need to pay any fees. The IC3 states that issues such as this one are subject to a fine of up to $15,000 or 5 years in prison.
Cheers mate, hope you make the correct decision,
    Nhjelle.

    You make me laugh.

I have been to many court dates for internet crimes, such as being part of a botnet team DDoSing mpsc. It will take you a long time to get him in court, probably 3-5 months. The person that took your $47.00, is more than likely a juvenile, so he will not even serve any time. He MIGHT get placed on standard probation for 3-9 months, and he will have to pay back restitution, which would be your $47.00, and the court fees, and he'll have to pay a montly probation fee.

BUT, he will be set on a trial, and you will have to testify against him, and there isn't really any way you can prove he 'scammed' you.

It really isn't worth it, and if you are a juvenile youself, (which you are) you won't even be able to take him to court, because i'm sure he doesn't live in the same state as you, so you would have to take it to NATIONAL court, which will cost 100's of dollars, but hey goodluck.

Yeah you could take the to court technically, but why bother over 47USD? I mean, Court fees are higher then that, plus you and the scammer would both have to be in the same country.

Should have used a MM or OMM.

Your just going to have to earn it back.
