I haven't used Steam in a long time and I'm installing it now. I assuming if I buy a DOTA 2 tradeable, that means I can play the Beta today? Please confirm.

 

I am not the topic owner, but..
Tradeable means that you can trade the game via Steam trade - he can trade the game to you and you can Trade it to someone else ( sell it ) or you can activate it for your self. If you activate it for your self, you can play the beta instantly.

 

The person above is correct. Every copy of CS:GO and DotA2 I have a tradable. You can trade it using the
Steam Trading system and it goes straight to your inventory for you to either use it or trade it away to
someone else (sell, trade for games or friends).

This is unlike giftable copies or codes, where you can't trade it off to someone else. They are obviously less desirable
and adds more complications to the picture.
