VB6.exe has generate errors and will be closed by Windows.

I just downloaded VB6 and installed it, and it seemed to be running fine. I tested it first by running the program just as the generic blank Form1, and it was fine. But whenever I add any one of the components on the left and try to run it, I get a message:

VB6.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created.

Searched "Microsoft Visual Studio" for any new text files, and it seems like no error log was created. There's obviously something wrong with my components.

Any help is much appreciated.

 

If you have vista, that will be the problem.

 

Yeah, Microsoft Vista and Vienna will no longer support VB6 standard. Has anyone found the fix for this?

how about running vb6 apps? I heard it gives type mismatch errors. Or is that only when you don't run it in compatability mode?
