Thanksgiving..Be thankful.....

As you sit around the dinner table and socialize with your family, friends, and think about what your thankful for on this American tradition, Be thankful for a couple things.

Be thankful we were starving when we came here.
Be thankful the native Americans saved the pilgrims.
Be thankful that we went on to live after that.
Be thankful that we then killed the Native Americans.
Be thankful that we then stole the majority of their land
Be thankful that almost every family in America celebrates this holiday.
And of course, be thankful that a turkey has nothing to do with anything.

Be thankful for all those things, pass the mash potatoes, and enjoy life.

If you look at many of the Prospering Native Americans, they were terrible. I don't think what was done is correct, but that is the only way they knew how to handle it...

But I hardly know anyone who think of thanksgiving as a American Tradition, more of a family day.

 

No matter what way you look at it, the pilgrims didn't have to kill them. They were even more terrible for what they did.

I don't agree with this holiday at all. Why not celebrate the holocaust?

You make it seem as if the pilgrims just started killing, Before they ever came, Native Americans fought a lot. And they also would sacrafice prisoners from other tribes. Many of the Pilgrims were god fearing people and didn't know how to handle that...

 

Don't we already have fourth of July? were we claimed independence. That was probably made our country more "successfully" then anything. Are you claiming that without the lives of countless Native Americans our country wouldn't be were it is. I think not, if anything it would be better.

They saved them, then got killed. YOUR acting as if their actions are somehow justified, because they didn't approve of the way they lived. You would fight to if someone was trying to kill you. It was their country, their land, imagine how they felt.

It wouldn't be where it is today. And America has cut a lot of corners to get where it is.

Well if you look into history surviving Native Americans were all forced into camps where they were stripped of there cultures. So Native Americans are not as they were before.

Regardless, many of the pilgrims came for religious reasons, and they did this for a god and did it the same reason that Native American tribes were doing it. Your just mad because it happened on a larger scale.

 

What else can you call it. A murder, with trades, and food. Is still a murder, i don't know what you have heard..

The 4th of July is fake as well it wasn't even signed on the 4th of July, it had revisions and had to be redone. Also It celebrates a start of a war...

All I'm saying is it should have been handled differently. and we shouldn't celebrate it. We have little four year olds playing "Indians and pilgrims" in plays. I don't believe thanksgiving and a lot of the other holidays out should be celebrated. thats what I'm saying

i was giving proof that turkey has something to do with it.

 

Getting rid of the holiday isn't going to change anything or who died, but instead, I think it helps everyone remember what happened.

I know the history of a lot of holidays and I don't think why they were celebrated orignally is correct, but now people make it more then it is. These holidays are so far from what it was in the beggining it doesn't matter anymore.
