VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- A 19-year-old Deltona man is arrested for assaulting his own mother, with a taco. Dena Moir tells Fox 35 News her son, Zachary Moir, got out of control Wednesday night when she was calling him down for dinner. When he refused to stop playing his X-box and come down for dinner, Dena Moir says she went upstairs and unplugged the game, that's when she says Zachary pushed her and called her a bad name. "I've been having trouble with him for awhile won't work, wont' go to school. He's being rude and disrespectful. Pushing things to the limit as far as the violence.”

A few minutes later Dena says she was in the kitchen cleaning and cooking tacos for dinner when Zachary showed up. That's when she says he slapped her arm and threw a taco in her face. “He went ahead and hit me with the taco and I got taco all over my shirt and kitchen. I’ve threatened to call police before. But anyway this time, I thought he went too far so I called police and he's in jail now.”

Dena Moir called cops and said she wants to press charges. Moir says Zachary has tried to call several times, but she's not picking up the phone yet. She says she's going to let him sit in his jail cell in Volusia County for a few days to teach him a lesson.

The news paper took this story to a level that It didn't need to go, the teen will most likely get a fine or sentenced to community service... IF, a judge even takes this serious, I can see a judge laughing at this case already...

 

Well to start off, that mom is one hell of a B*tch!

Not because she pressed charges, that was going to happen eventually; whether he hit her with a taco or a baseball bat.

I believe the kid deserved to be punished for it; and seeing as he already had some control over the Mom/used violence to get his way, she wasn't going to be able to provide such punishment that would actually work in their home without her safety being at risk.

Let's face it, from what the article says, this kid was violent. Say she took his Xbox, and he pushes her down some stairs.

Jail seems like the best option in this case. Usually it is a last resort for kids, or when they become to out of control. But there was no way he was going to learn his lesson unless he saw how much of a problem he was causing.

The reason I say the mom is a B*tch is because while he is sitting there in Jail, he probably wants to hear a familiar voice. Someone that can comfort him and tell him it's going to be alright.

But she's not answering the damn phone, he is starting to think she doesn't care, and it's going to end up all fucked in the end.

He will remember that she did not answer later on and her doing so is just causing more problems to arise in the future.

That is what I think.

Also, I know he is 19, I said "kid" because in the article they refer to him as her son, therefore being a kid.

This is like getting in a food fight and putting the school in jail... No, there are family's out there that have worse problems then this and you don't see them going to jail for hitting each other.
