after 6 months you can be 100% sure it's yours;
other then that - don't put too much gp on it

if no one offers a wow acc ill be sad and just give it away to first guy who asked me

 

You can never be sure when it's yours, when you're not the original owner.
My oldest account, created in '06 was hacked after 4 months of playing.
I recovered it recently, so the account was in his possesion for over 5 years, still I can recover it, even without membership information.
