Ive seen many topics like this in the last few so here it goes. what to do with cash?

Ok so ive been getting a lot of money lately from work and selling my WoW account. In the end of september i will have $800 in my bank account so im really thinking on what i should do with it. I can always leave it there and let it collect small amounts of interest. I can prolly save it up for university or a car maybe. or i can just blow it on something. Atm i have a laptop in mind but i think that would be a rather stupid purchase. I already have a VERY good for me PC and i dont rly see where else i would need a laptop other than school. and even there im not that lazy not to just write. So what should i do with it? Ive though xbox360 but its too much to just spend $400 on the xbox itself and than buy games for $70 each when i can just download any game i want on my pc and play it. i have thought about skating again but it would be an even dumber idea since winter is coming up. I can always save it to fly to Austria next year to watch the Euro2008 but that would be a rater careless purchase aswell. plz give me advice.

If you want to save it don't just leave it in the bank. At the very least put it into a CD or invest in money markets to keep your money liquid. If your willing to keep your money tied up for a long time invest in your retirement at an early age. Never underestimate the power of compound interest.

For example you invest your money and get a modest 5 percent return after taxes. When you retire 45 years from now that will be almost 9,000 dollars.

I usually invest 100-250 dollars a month. Not only for retirement but for any life emergencies or major expenses.

 

Get a 401k

 

Id buy the labtop

 

I'd spend half of it and put the rest in savings... I recommend buying a bunch of cool shit for your room

 

ya im actually gunna try to expend it. some kind of merchanting / stock buisness. buyng WoW or rs gold and than reselling it would work pretty well. ill see. any other ideas?
