It's Sad.

Well, over the last few weeks, Sythe.org has become terrible, with scammers. that is. Why? Well I've been looking through the report a scammer page, and sure, a few are just spam posted by noobs, but most are real reports. I understand the fact it takes awhile to go through the reports, but...When I look in the despute forum, I see Admins and Moderator replies to all the threads, over just a little infraction, and okay, sometimes bans.
Sure, leaving someone banned unfairly is wrong, but don't you think that Scammer Reports show be more of a priority, to stop more scams? This brings me to another fact. Only two people are assigned to the Scammer Section, and I hear WoW isn't handling them. Town is a great guy, but there is no way he can do it alone. Why not give access to some more moderators to be able to ban? Another solution would be to give some people power to lock threads in the Report a scammer section that don't follow the format/not enough proof. This would save the people who can actually ban time. This may sound like I'm asking for it, but I don't deserve it of course. Give it to some Sythe members who have been here awhile. Thank you for reading this, and I hope some change comes about.

 

The global moderators do the scam reports too. Look in the archives.

Wow_Sucks is an awesome guy..but he doesn't do the scam reports..much less mod the rs forums...


scamming IS a problem here..and it's not gonna be an easy problem to fix..
it really can't even be fixed..but I think there might be other ways to help cut down on it.

im with ya.

its been a couple months that non stop accounts are being made and leechers are simply trying to scam as soonas they get here. we've got people with 1 post trying to sell 600m us going first etc.

i know that by locking the black market off for higher posters will just create more spam in other sections.

i was thinking about it and i was wondering if the site should become sort of like moola.com maybe only mods/admins/market mods etc. can invite people to join the site. they'd have a reigstration code that would be necessary to join the site.

 

Yea I posted this about the report a scammer section its being neglected as many post are still from September and haven't been answered.

 

Scamming is a big problem, especially with a certain person with over 1k posts, who claims to not have traded with me.
He lures you in and makes you think he's trustworthy, then logs out after you trade with him.

 

He shouldn't be, he is a sectional mod.

Yeah, plus it would be hard to do that now, unless the staff banned almost all the current users...

You cant stop scamming, as long as sythe is up and running there will always be scammers, thats why theres guides and ways to prevent being scammed.

 

i agree with this. out of 2 scammer reports that i reported, 1 was automatically checked and the scammer was banned, but for the other one, i had to call upon a mod to get it looked at. being the most important section, you would think you would assign more moderators to it. only 2? come on

 

If everyone would be using a trusted mm there would be less scamming.
What i find sad is that you don't seem to get things the right way. The blackmarket trades are "trust" trades. There is a chance that you could get scammed. If you don't want to take that chance then go ahead and use a mm or don't do the trade at all! No one is forcing you to go to the black market, but if you choose to, you will have to accept the consequenses that might occur.

Yes, I agree with this...I know somone that has scammed over 3 times on the same account..it's stupid...

Agreed. Why wouldn't you search his posts before buying an account?

 

I talked to SMR and Clash about this problem.
I am available 24/7 to do the reports, and I myself see it aswell as a huge problem. I told clash and smr that I am free 24/7 with almost nothing to do but MM, they said they'd look into a possitbility of me MAYBE being able to do something about it.

So hopefully, just MAYBE I'll be modding that forum. I'd be happy to help.

 

Yeah, I saw you posting in the forum a few day ago. I hope you get the power to ban.
