Project RS06 Safe Trading Guide​

PR06 got popular fast, and there is an obvious demand for gold and phats on this large server. But do no underestimate the moderator presence on Sythe, many loudmouth mods have reported that they focus on RWT pretty seriously. Along with a high number of bans that have been given to sellers on Sythe, its time to stop taking risks and learn how to trade properly.

First off, DONT USE YOUR REGULAR SKYPE. They can get your ip off of this, even if you use a VPN; because it shows your old ip. You should create a BRAND NEW skype account while logged into a VPN (a vpn you havent ever used an account on; so the skype ip wont match to your login ip).
You can also use MSN; but i dont know if MSN is still commonly used around here.


You should always use a MiddleMan with private server trades, here is a small list of MMs that do private server trades

This guide written from the stand point of me, a buyer. But obviously works for any party in the trade.

1)Never ask for the Sellers username, it makes buyers look like staff.
2)We use an MM. There are plenty; it should be against the rules to do PR06 trades without an MM. pretty much saying "hello mod"
3) The MM logs onto a VPN (vpn reactor and hotspot shield are two free ones)
4) The MM creates a new account, only for the trade. (doesnt log into that account or the vpn's ip address again)
5) The MM meets the seller, Seller gives MM the items. the MM and Seller should discuss their location in a chat that the Buyer cannot see.
6)Buyer sends seller the payment like normal, the seller confirms the payment, and tells the MM.
7) The MM and Buyer then discuss a location, and account to meet on, on a chat that the seller cannot see, so the seller doesn't learn the buyers username. (do not assume sellers are safe; eventually i bet mods will come on here offering to sell spawned goods at DEAD CHEAP prices, hoping that other sellers will buy from them)
8)The MM trades the buyer the items.
-At this point the buyer does not know the sellers username, and the seller does not know the buyers username. But all 3 accounts in this transaction should be on brand new accounts. And all 3 people should be behind a VPN.

-At this point the trade is complete for the Buyer and the MM-

This part is guesswork, trying to assume that they keep logs of certain things such as trades; but not other things such as drop trading records.
It seems a little rugged, but the best method for transfering items from a mule to a main is still by drop trading.
1)Log your Main into the game
2)Open up your vpn program,(hotspot works best for this). This will keep your main on your real ip, But if you log into any more accounts; they will be on the VPN Ip. Hot spot works great because it masks theip of your next login, without logging out the account that is on your real IP.
3)into your mule account, which should now be on the VPN ip
4)drop trade your items, pick them up on your main on your real account.

Done!

Other methods would be to use a general store, or to die and then have your items picked up. Its going to be trial and error to see if this first method gets you banned, but if followed to the letter it leaves each party of the transaction with phony information about the other people in the transaction.

How/Why to use a VPN​

VPNs are point and click once you are familer with them; but many of you may never had to hide yourself on the internet past the requirements of a proxy.

by "a vpn" in this guide, i mean a vpn service that can allow you to quickly acquire a new IP address; without it being the same one multiple times.
There are not very many free vpn services, but there are a couple that work for what we are trying to do (some have 20 minute limits per connection). Many online merchants purchase a subscription to a vpn for reliability; you can use google to find paid vpns.

By a wide margin the best vpn service for PR06 is Hotspot shield. Its free, and it even allows you to log in an account on your real ip; and then log in using the vpn ip, without it logging out the account on your real ip. (This can be used to bypass the 3 ip limit if you are trying to multilog/bot)
