Selling an accoutn guide?

I'm sure i could go on for hours and HOURS as to why scammers exist, or why people get scammed or stereotyping a newcomer as a scammer but that isn't the case this time . Sythe (IMO), was designed as a community for responsible peers selling their online goods through the internet to one-another. But over the years I have been here i have observed an awful trend when people sell their accounts (of any game). It is that some (meaning majority) of the users nitpick every aspect, trait and detailed history of the account to boost their profits gained from it. Come on guys, lets be serious. you're playing an ONLINE VIDEO GAME (in which I GUARANTEE 98.5% of you are addicted to regardless) that you spend countless hours on, get tired of, start a new toon (or a few thousand), and sell the old, unwanted ones. Prices shouldn't be nearly as high as they are unless they are truly worth it to the peer's around here. Let me give you an example of a Runescape account I had recently been interested in.

The account was 2 years old (most likely been sitting in boxes in the attic for majority of that time, it had two months of membership on it (and the 2nd month was wasted and unused) and the stats were 1 attack, 63 strength, 1 defense and 50 ranged. the kid wanted TWENTY-FIVE BUCKS for it... for an account that was neglected and eventually replaced. Here is what my opinion is.. membership shouldn't mean anything in the net price of an account, as it came from your pocket to level up the character you were going to replace sometime in the future. please keep in mind that account prices SHOULD be based on stats and name versus the time spent making the account. The overall time should have a MINIMAL effect on the price (unless additives such as holiday items, veteran capes, etc. exist on the account) considering you played the account and most likely enjoyed doing so. Dont take the time trying to sell the thing for such a high price when no one will even look through the thread.

Again, Sythe is/should be used for selling your unwanted accounts and make some side money, versus taking up space and making it harder to find REAL account sales.

PLEASE keep all of this in mind when selling your account. we are not here to pay for the time and love you put into it; we are buying the account itself with no strings attached and PS: STOP SELLING ACCOUNTS YOU KNOW YOU WILL MISS DEARLY... This causes recovery accounts, unwanted commotion and seriously pissed off people. it is THEIR hard-earned money/gold/whatever they are giving you for your old things. If that seems to be an issue with you, go to playerauctions and use their system to sell the account while you get less than you would here, AFTER you drop the price to a reasonable level.

That was it for the rant on the subject. Please remember to stay kind, courteous, respectful and honest. Make Sythe a place without a bad name. be above those stereotypical "newcommers" that nobody will go first to. With that, Enjoy your morning, day or evening. It's 5 o'clock somewhere
