    MSN Problems

I have recently had problems with my MSN. When I attempt to log in, with the correct password, it doesn't let me sign in and gives me a troubleshooting screen with a try again option. It hasn't been working, but it has worked prior to this therefor I know the password is correct.
    Here's the error:

Make sure your password is correct or try restarting MSN. Sometimes you may have problems like that, so if it still doesn't work- try again in 1 hour.

1.) Make sure your e-mail and pass is correct
2.) Make sure your connected to the internet
    3.) Try restarting your computer

Those are the things I do when I can't connect to MSN. Restarting almost always solves problems.

I need a more complex response. Obviously I made sure the password and e-mail were correct and I even made another one to test it and that failed as well. I'm thinking it has to be something with a windows firewall, but I wanted to hear other responses.

    Here's the error:

    Try re-downloading the MSN Messenger.

I did that, to no avail. I even shut off my windows firewall.

Make sure your updated with the current MSN.

To confirm that your password is correct; have you signed into any web-based msn's or ninemsn?

Did you have any hacks installed with your msn?

    1. Besure that you have typed in the correct credentials.
    2. Make sure that your firewall isn't blocking msn from connecting to the internet. If it's windows firewall (XP; not sure of vista), goto Start>Control Panel>Windows Firewall; otherwise if it's anything else, request further help.

If non of the above help you, be sure to scan your computer for any trojans, spyware, etc.
SpyBoy S&D (Search and Destroy) is very good when it comes to cleaning your computer out...

I tried all of that, Demonavenger. I'm just going to be using an online client for MSN until I can straighten the problem out, I doubt it's too serious or too difficult to resolve. But, thanks.

My friend is currently having the same problem, as well as a few other people I know. It just seems to be a temporary problem going around, i'm sure it will be fixed soon.

You could uninstall your msn, and download a slightly older version that isn't Windows Live Messenger. It would be a better choice than web messengers as those just fail. If it doesn't work then I guess you just have no choice.

If Brix's method doesn't work go to live.msn.com and the latest version should be there

Uk's link doesn't work. Also, Brix you mean the date in the bottom right hand corner of my computer? If so, those are set correctly. Still doesn't work.

I've installed the older version and it still didn't work. I've had problems with MSN before but this one is dumbfounding me and it seems everyone else. If anyone and everyone can attempt to answer this problem I'd appreciate it. I posted the error above.
