In order to run newer games and stay future proof, you'd want to upgrade the GPU & CPU to run things maxed out.
It also depends on what resolution your planning to play on.
1440x900 and below, then the PC would keep you going for a year or two.
1680X1050 and above, then you would struggle - particularly in the future.
