    1. Telnet is a program for connecting to remote nodes.

    2. Not a virus, it might be able to be used for hacking.

    3. I doubt you'll ever really need to know.

Yeah I saw that star wars thing. Its like the whole star wars using ASCI.

    Do this:
    Start | Run | Telnet | o | towel.blinkenlights.nl

and now view what people can do with truly no life. This isent a hack people just say that to sound cool.

Linux takes an extremely long time to compile and install from scratch. 2 or 3 days straight in my case.

Therefore, you do get bored, and in my case, I ended up watching the entire text-mode starwars via telnet.

    Lol.

Anyway, on topic, Telnet is basically a protocol. Not a program. There are programs to connect via Telnet, but Telnet itself is a protocol, just like HTTP, FTP, SSL, TLS etc.

    Haha, I guess you're right o.0

I tend to mention things from personal experience, which can be either good or bad depending on the subject, due to it sounding off topic etc. And I really only just noticed that.

But ya, Telnet is really nothing you need to worry about.
