Do You Think Jagex Has Any Idea How Many People Cheat/Bot?

I think they have a good idea, but will not ban all of them...

I'm sure they know that it's a staggering amount. I'm also sure that, even if they could, they would not ban every botter due to the massive amount of membership money they would lose. They may ban the "big timers" that are like 24/7, but they will never get even 1/15 of them at any one time.

 

I would say yes, and I believe certain botters are given a bigger chance then others, because its been said before and talked about in RS forums... Botter provide a VERY big economic cussion. If there were no bots getting items needed to skill, for quests, etc etc in progression, Manual labor and slaving over shit would get old quick when prices go up from demand.

 

No bots=Undersupply
If they had no bots at all, the economy would be even more fucked than it already is.

 

Not exactly ALL, but they probably have a rough estimate from the results of their research in botting/banning people.

 

I'm pretty sure they have a good idea but they will never be able to take care of all of it.

 

I actually don't think they know really how many people bot, nor do I think that they will ban ALL of them. We all can think we know how many people bot, but I bet theres 2 times the amount of people we think, it's just something that would be hard to get an estimate on with hundreds of thousands of players.

If 1 in 5 people bot, 500k players = 100k botters. If 1 in 10 bot, 500k players = 50k botters. I'm just doing an estimate on how many people play for my equasion >.>

 

i dont think they have a good estimate tbh. they catch a few compared to how many people do it. they try and they have an idea from how many they catch, but got to think how many people on sythe have got done for botting really. And if they did have a good idea, what can they really do about it? put more randoms? but thats another question

 

I'd have to say yes. I'm sure they also realize how botters regulate the market. You know how they occasionally have "mass bannings"? I'm sure they leave a small percentage of the botters to encourage them to come back. Honestly, they seem to know how the market -in the game- runs, and it's ups and downs. I think they know, but some of you don't realize, they know it keeps their game alive.

I don't think they will ever fully eliminate botting, or if they do they will PERSONALLY help develop a bot under a different alias.

 

In my opinion, I don't think they have any idea to how many people are botting, and if they could, they would really need some high-tech stuff.

 

If they banned all the botters (they won't) who would pick all the flax, fish for lobs, so on and so on. Maybe a smaller percentage but there would not be enough to go around for everyone.

No one likes doing some thing for a long time like picking flax

 

I believe that they are aware that there is a huge amount of botters, but they are also aware that they would lose a decently large portion of membership fees if they banned them all. When they go on their banning sprees, they will always leave a portion of bots left to encourage people to continue botting and paying the membership fees, as they would lose a lot of money if they didn't.

They probiblly do know about a lot of botters but they don't want to ban a lot of them because of the money they get from their memberships.
They probibly ban the people who do it non-stop but I don't think they really want to.

 

jagex probably could estimate how many people bot,
they could just tell by looking at ip's with multiple accounts going.

but jagex needs bots to keep prices stable and keep people happy that they can get a 99 skill for a resonably price,

i mean who would pay 2k for a yew log?
or even 2k for a lobster?

without the supply demand goes up with demand prices are forced up.

if every bot in the game was to be removed think about how dull it would be...

everything would have insane prices but on a positive note all discontinued items prices would drop dramatically due to no one wanting to buy anything.
