CS 1.6 Server

Well, i got an option to get a server for CS1.6 With 32 slots, i could possibly make this server go in the Staff's hands and that they operate and i already got the server for a year, so you guys will not pay anything and it will have no upkeep costs as its on a server in Bulgaria, would you guys be interested in me getting the deal trough so i could make it for sythe as a whole? would people be interested? Please post below

 

Not sure if Bulgaria would be the best place for it.... I know I wouldn't be able to really play on it

If by chance you do want to do this though, I can help manage it. I have TONS of experience managing CS 1.6 servers and addons. I used to host my own dedi, and I've had FTP access to at LEAST a dozen different servers.

I can do pretty much anything entailed in managing a CS server in my sleep.

I like the idea of a CS 1.6 server but I am not too sure how many people actually play the game from those who just buy and sell steam accounts/gifts.

 

We somewhat have a suggestion related to Sythe.org Servers for games here: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1470051. You might be able to incorporate your suggestion on that thread too. Personally, I'm all for a couple of gaming servers for Sythe to play on. Good advertising too.

 

Ryan it would be all managed by sythe staff, and not me, you can have FTP access and stuff and put whatever mods you want !

Again, if we can get the server hosted in the US (central preferrably) it would be ideal (IMO) and I'll gladly volunteer to admin the server as I have experience with CS 1.2-1.6 administrative positions. Seb, if you want to do it, set up the server. I'll take control immediately. Just give me the info.

As for mods, I plan on keeping it simple. Nothing exotic, IMO the more mods, the worse the gameplay. I'll set up AMX and a couple of the other essentials and give some of our 1.6 diligent users RCON access. Aside from that, I don't plan on modding it much further.

 

Also - Those who are familiar with CS 1.2-1.6, please PM me applications for RCON/AMX admin positions. I'll take everyone into consideration. Just note, abuse your permissions, and you will have your privileges revoked. I want to try and get an honest and well-managed server going. Abuse will NOT be tolerated under ANY circumstances.

 

Can someone create a thread with things like a link for the place to buy the game, how to set it up, access the server, etc? I'd love to really get involved with this but I've only played at the odd LAN party.

Support this 100%. Would like to see more servers added over time as well so we can get more traffic coming to our site (My idea).

If I can help this in any way just let me know, I really want to watch us broaden our gaming horizons, not lose RS, but just spread out a bit.
