Some cleaning up in the RS General section

I was just browsing through the RS General section and noticed a lot of spam, useless threads, and threads that are in the wrong section. I can't go through and report all of them, but I can point out some of the things. There's a lot of Market-related threads that should be deleted/moved to the Archives. There are lots of threads with pages of spam and just some general cleaning that needs to be done.

Just pointing that out to the RS Mods.

 

I'll get to it. I haven't had much time to browse in addition to completing spam reports, but I have some free time currently.

 

Sounds good man. You know what you're doing. If every Moderator just pitched in everyday, these things wouldn't fall behind. Overall though, you're doing a good job.

Maybe my spam radar isn't dialed in strong enough, but I didn't find a ton of posts out of place. Were they all past the third page?...

 

Where ever you go people will post in wrong places cause there idiots >.<

Always is pretty messy when I visit those sections. Maybe an extra pair of hands would help.

 

Considering NNK is back, I think it might get a little cleaner.

Although I find Kero and Farcast to be doing a great job with that section lately, maybe it is just me. Seems like those two are doing good.

 

The RS cheating sections getting filled with spam as well now

 

I thought he got demoted?

 

I just checked it twice and it looks fine to me.

 

FireZ cleaned it up one thread was just filled with spam

 

I wasn't aware that one thread was the entire section.

I know they are cleaned up now but yesterday there were a lot of newcomers just posting random stuff to get post count and got banned for vading in the end

I'm not going to turn this into spam, don't think I'm putting any mod down I'm just saying it does get messy in there once in a while, also one thread filled with spam is pretty big I can't find the thread it was on gold4rs's campaign

 

You do realize we cannot be here 24 hours a day? We do our best to check the section for stuff like this; in fact, two of those three links were already closed when I clicked it. The best thing you can do is report the posts. If it is getting out of hand, then you can make a Feedback thread. However, the first two pages of both General and Cheating look fine to me, as of right now at least.

You also have to manage 2 sections.

I've been in your position before, in a less-busy site and it's not the easiest thing to do.

There will always be jobs that are left un-done, but Staff are only human?

People need to remember the Report a Post button is there to help assist Staff in doing their job, members need to use it so Staff can actually do more.
Staff rely on the community and the community rely on them, it work's a 2 way street.

So the bottom line is, make sure you use the Report button. I myself, report 20-30 things a day and they always get done.
