School Writing Assignment

Teacher gave us a long list of subjects to choose from and write a short essay on it. I chose a philosophy I may have on life. It's one page long in size 12 on word. Let me know what you think.

A Philosophy on Life​

With each day that passes by I gain something new in my outlook on life. Every action that someone performs or each conversation that I have opens up a new, possibly very small, piece in my life philosophy. My current view on life has taken fifteen years and 361 days to grow in to what it is now, and is being changed or added to every single day. I am proud of my thoughts and beliefs, and will not drastically change what I think for anyone. However, I enjoy discussing my outlook with anyone who is willing to have an educated conversation.
The foundation for my belief is that our earth was put here for a reason, and that we are living to achieve a purpose. No one lives a pointless life, or one without purpose. If we are alive today, there has to be some reason for it. I also believe that God had put everyone on this earth which he created. I believe in a Christian God, but I am also open to the fact that the bible has been changed several times over the years. I am somewhat unsure of why God puts people on this earth that do not believe in him, but I know that it is a free choice to choose him. However, I do not believe that we are living this life to do nothing but praise God and live in a lackluster environment. I do not believe in a God so conceited that He would create billions of humans to do nothing but bow down to him.
I think everything happens for a reason, however small it may be. Maybe getting held up at a drive-in window has saved my life from a car accident. Some people believe in Karma, which is a justified belief that what goes around comes around. I do not believe in Karma in its true meaning, but I believe if you do bad things to those people around you for a life time, your life will not be as joyous. This, I believe, is due in part to the negative feelings that enfold you at all times. Yet, if you do great things for people around you, or just small deeds on a regular basis, you will live a much happier life. So, while everything happens for a purpose, everyone has the ability to control the path that their life takes.
This brings me to music. Music, in my opinion, relates back to the feelings that are experienced with Karma. Surrounding yourself with music that makes you feel good will give you a better overall feeling about everything around you. These feelings dictate the way we lead our lives. People should never back down or be sorry about the music they listen to. Music can only be “bad” or “harmful” if the listener wants it to be that way. No matter what music someone listens to, they can always make the choice to live the life that they want to.
I do not believe in or support violence in any form. Killing young adults or innocent civilians is wrong in any situation. I deem the 10 Commandments that God set for us are the basic and most important laws that we should follow on this earth. He says that murder is wrong, and I strongly believe this to be true. This should not be misunderstood though. I firmly support our U.S. troops who are doing what they are told to ensure a good life for their families.
It’s evident that my life philosophy is very complicated. Many parts of my thoughts may even contradict themselves to a point. This is, of course, not my full view on everything in my life. Nevertheless, this is the basic liberties and boundaries that I feel govern the way I live. No one has the ability to take my thoughts or soul away from me, nor will they ever change my mind without a substantial amount of evidence.
