Scammed by sarahxxxx

For: $550 (Aussie dollar)
Description of scam: I went first, gave her the item. She won't pay.

I accepted that I was going to have to give a little for people to trust me so I went first, as she had given me a lot of personal details that checked out. This was discussed on msn, unfortunately I do not have the log. Traded her the item, with the knowledge that a bank deposit for $550 would occur after this. Again don't have a screenshot of the trade however her runescape name is ipartys.

The fact she received the item is not in dispute however, she has made several references to receiving the item:

The trade happened on the Thursday 17th of Feb. I requested she test sending money before the trade by sending me $1. But obviously this was still going to take 3 days. Once she received the item she said she transfered the money.

Sunday 20th Feb. $1 came through but nothing else. I contacted her as you can see in this thread:

And we spoke on msn, she made another transfer and told me to wait for it.

Wednesday 23rd Feb. No payment in my bank again. I tried contacting her on Facebook as requested, on Sythe, and looked out for her on msn.

Sunday 27th Feb. Sent her more PM's, as she was online on sythe but not replying. I got this response when asking if she has money in her paypal for an instant transfer:




Confirmation she has not payed me. I told her I am not waiting for another failed transfer and can I have my item back.

Later that day, she was online and active, made no attempt to reply my PM's. Asked megabyte on msn to add her to see if she was on. Yes, she was online to him, but not to me, i.e. I was blocked / appear offline to me / removed. I have the log for the msn conversation with megabyte if needed, he tried getting her to add me, then she stopped responding and then blocked him too.

Monday 28th Feb. Phoned her work, she told her co-worker to lie and say she wasn't there (heard it in the background). Get home and I am removed from her facebook (have screenshots showing I was once friends with her and now not).

All in all she got me good, I understand she has completed a lot of very small $$ trades on here, and it was my mistake for going first. However she has clearly scammed me here and needs to be banned. I will pursue my money outside of this site. Theres no disputing she has the item, and she has made no payment to me, if she has she would be able to post a screenshot here but I doubt she'll even contest this.

EDIT: I guess I should note that yes I do have a small post count, I only came here to sell the items in my thread, and I can get vouches (or already have) for over $6000 worth of items over 3 trades, only 1 needing a MM.
