Scammed by [impostor]

"Nameking" contacted me on Sythe via PM asking about the name, saying he had the gold, etc. After some skepticism we went to Discord and discussed. He suggested we use a guy on this site named "Probemas" as a middleman. Probemas had thousands of vouches for gold selling, etc. Been on the site for a while. I asked for a PM to verify and he sent one, which is included in screenshots below.

During the conversation where they were saying I wasn't responding, I was in the process of transferring all of my notable wealth off of the account and onto a mule for the transaction, out of suspicion, which was obviously accurate.

I was asked to log off of the account and leave 2 bonds in the inventory, which I did. Once the name was changed twice, I changed my account password back and logged in to find the following inventory with 1 bond and a 14m cash stack in it from the sale of the other bond

The confirmation PM was one for Probemas 'buying 07 gold for Paypal' and you still went ahead with the trade?

Double imposter scammed - Probemas doesn't even use Discord.

EDIT: Probemas also doesn't even offer a mm service.

 

Yeah, I fucked up. Just didn't figure a $300+ donor with thousands of vouches would scam for a shit name. Went through the trouble of transferring off the valuables on my account just in case. But, again, didn't figure someone with those vouches would bother scamming for a shit name or a couple mil.

 

It wasn’t the $300 Donor with thousands of vouches, it was an impostor using his name

When trading always be sure to ask for a PM and check Discord/Sythe Names against the the users profile

The confirmation PM will be text directly copy and pasted from your conversation , and will include yours and his usernames to confirm

 

No matter if it's the queen of sythe or george of the jungle always ASK FOR A "PM"

 

Hold on, so the conversation on Sythe with "Probemas" isn't actually "Probemas"??

 

That is the real Probemas, but I could go on his live chat and get him to PM you right now, look at the context of the message

At what point on Discord did you discuss selling 200m for $0.92/m?

The scammer has made a fake Discord to impersonate Probemas and when you asked for a PM gone on his live chat and asked him to send you a PM for buying 200m gold, when that’s not the trade you were doing

This could easily have been avoided by reading the PM he sent you

I feel sorry for you, horrible seeing this happen to people but it can always be avoided by people being more vigilant and actually reading PM’s instead of seeing the persons username and handing over their cash

EDIT: The whole reason the user sending the PM copy and pastes the full conversation is so you can see if it’s the same conversation you are having which is never the case in these scams

EDIT 2: In the Sythe message sent by Probemas you can also see the conversation is clearly over a Live Chat when you were speaking over Discord another massive red flag

 

I mean I read the PM, but he sent it right when I asked, so I figured it was just him sending a portion of his conversation with the other guy that was giving me the gold (i.e. the guy currently buying the gold from him)

Oh well. I mean I'm not too butthurt over it, but I actually see what you guys are saying now. It makes sense, lol.

But yeah, don't feel sorry for me. I was skeptical from the start and like I said just thought the PM from Probemas on here was some roundabout way of sending proof the other guy had the 200m.

That's exactly why I actually transferred my RS3 wealth over to my other account before doing this lol.

 

Atleast you traded your wealth over so only technically lost a name, unfortunately it’s just a lesson learnt the hard way, happens to a lot of people

Next time make sure the text in the PM matches exactly what is happening in Sythe/Discord and the Usernames match exactly

 

Closing this. You were scammed by an impostor which is very unfortunate. I have also banned the user who scammed you.
