    PlasmaTune is a scammer.

Explanation of the trade: I was looking for a seller of pure neopoints. PlasmaTune agreed to sell me 25M neopoints for $1.25/M (for a total price of $31.25, which I decided to round up to $32). The agreed upon method of payment was initially paypal but after agreeing to the deal, PlasmaTune disclosed that they had no paypal account (the first red flag). After agreeing to use an Amazon gift card, I purchased a gift card from amazon.com which was sent to the email PlasmaTune provided me. They proceeded to redeem the gift card but failed to send me any information to retrieve my purchase. After trying to get more money from me (another red flag), PlasmaTune provided account information which did not correspond to any account. After further prompting, PlasmaTune provided information for an account that does exist but provided the wrong password. This was the last correspondence I received from PlasmaTune, despite my multiple replies informing them that the information they supplied me was useless. It is worth noting that the account listed the second time is by no means a "shell" and is more likely an account they have no control over whatsoever. Despite showing account activity well after when they would have received my PMs, I have had no further word from them.

Sorry if this is a big block of text, hopefully the PM log is easier to read through. I've organized screengrabs in an imgur album here: http://imgur.com/a/m31oa#0. They are unfortunately in the opposite sequence, so start at the last image and work your way to the front to read them in chronological order.

How they scammed: I paid PlasmaTune $32 with an amazon gift card which they redeemed but I have not received the 25M neopoints they agreed to sell me.

Sythe PM picture: http://imgur.com/a/m31oa#0 (you'll need to go through them in the opposite order that they are in the album, sorry) Included is a screenshot of my Amazon account management page showing they redeemed the gift card.

Could you upload a picture that shows your neopets account hasn't been credited the points please.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the site or not, but that's not exactly how it would work. The way it should work is that they would provide me with the account info for a "shell" account with the money on it, usually one with no outward signs of any wealth/activity. Then I would transfer the money off of that account in a few different ways and delete the account. What happened instead was that they failed to provide useful account information. First giving a username that doesn't exist, then another (which was clearly not a shell) that I couldn't log into with the password they provided.

I'm well aware I won't get my money back, and I'm not certain I can provide strong enough proof to have them banned. At the very least, I wanted to document the event so other users would be aware of the problem. I am very new to this forum, is there another place where this would be more appropriate?

Here are pictures of the "shell" account: http://imgur.com/a/P3Grd#0

This account has 348 avatars (making it in the top 70 of all the accounts in terms of total avatar count). It pays for premium service on the site (as evidenced by the word "stealth!" appearing instead of the date of the account's most recent activity). It has 400 stamps (no small investment of time or money). 23 site themes (a very high number). It also has three expensive pets outfitted with several accessories and a level 50 habitarium (the max.). Lastly, it has tons of site event, site feature, and game trophies.

In short, this is one of the most active accounts I have ever seen. If PlasmaTune has any connection to this account (which I strongly doubt) it would be either their personal main account or more likely an account they gained false entry to in order to drain. This would then be an account I was supposed to have no direct contact with, as they agreed to provide the 25M on a shell account.

I have since requested a refund from PlasmaTune in lieu of the agreed transfer, they have failed to respond. That message can be seen here: http://i.imgur.com/Lo6Ep5W.png
