Scammed by lopeta

As the title states, I have been scammed by lopeta. I offered to sell him a 90-day RSGC upgrade in exchange for 25M. Our conversation continued on MSN's IM (I added him first on MSN's IM.) After giving him the first pin, he claimed that it was invalid. I demanded to see a video verifying invalidity. He made a big deal out of it, claiming that he had difficulties sending/uploading the video file. In the end, he sent the video through MSN's IM where I was unable to open the file; the file took an extremely long time to load (at the rate it was transferring, the transfer would have taken over 10 hours). When I checked RuneScape again, he had already logged out, leading me to believe that he is a scammer.

What happened after he logged out on MSN? It looked like you guys simply ceased conversation on MSN, although he never logged out or blocked you. Have you spoken to him about this issue since?

Also - I am PM'ing him asking for the video proof that the code did not work. If he ignores me or can't provide proof, I will ban him for scamming. But before I ban anybody, I am going to see what he has to say about this.

 

It's as you said. Our conversation simply ceased. I felt no further incentive to question him further as I felt that my suspicions of him were confirmed after he had logged out of RuneScape.

 

Alright. Well I PM'd him last night and it looks like he still hasn't logged in, and therefore hasn't had a chance to respond. I will give him some time to respond and/or refund, and if he chooses not to then I will ban him.

Well he still hasn't been online to respond to this report. I am going to go ahead and ban him, and if/when he comes back, he can explain what happened in his dispute.

The fact of the matter is that he still got away without paying for the upgrade you provided him with, and as of now there appears to be more evidence to support your side of the story than his.

Please stay in contact though, just in case he comes back sooner vs. later.

 

Update: July 04 2012

Lopeta provided this video via MSN and I can't find any discrepancies or signs that it has been edited. It seems that the code legitimately did not work when he entered it.
