Why the hell are mms vouching on people threads? It's ridiculous, that like giving person 2 vouches for 1 trade? when mm did whole trade? I can understand taking vouch off sum one when ur buying rsgp off them (Like me trading with person with 2000+ vouches). it's really getting nervs, I wouldn't take vouch from mm cos i find it to be sad, never used mm in my life at that.

Edit: but at that your not aloud vouch for dicing if I remember correctly?

Yeah I rarely understood why middlemen were to vouch for the other person? The people weren't trusted with anything? Thought that was the whole point of a vouch.

 

Ever since the whole rep vs vouches thing came into play I basically just said fuck all when it came to reputation.


U can basically have 1k rep on a random trading forum and claim it as 1k+ rep which 90% of users view as 1k+ vouches.


Not even worth the time complaining, vouches/rep system has been shot to hell lol.


Was better when onsite vouches ONLY were allowed.

Basically allowing off-site rep has killed having a sythe reputation at all tbh.

 

Yeah, I never really understood people saying they have offsite feedback? Like go make the trade off-site then lol. Should only allow Sythe vouches on Sythe...

 

I know I totally agree, It should be not allowed and part of the mm rules, it ridiculous that it gone on this long, and some people with higher vouches in low vouch amount like you and I (If i remember ur under 1k was going to sell you gold but didn't like your price) are flooding their vouches with mm vouches a special with people under 100 vouches, and than they count them as real vouches its ridiculous.

 

The problem is the majority of users do have offsite rep, so they outnumber the people who worked to gain their sythe rep.


It is getting old seeing a $50 donor advertising he has 500+rep or 1000+ rep when he joins in December though.


I don't know how staff discussion ended up concluding it was a good idea for sythe to allow it.

 

Make the suggestion and I'll support it then ^_^

EDIT: There isn't that many people middlemanning, surely can't be hard to just put a sticky saying MMs cant vouch and be done with it?

I see it a different way. A vouch from a middleman shows something:

1. The user who received the vouch has used a middleman in the past. While they may not be the most trusted, this shows they have undergone a successful transaction with a middleman. This shows that said user wanted to have a safe transaction, which means that they are more likely to be legit in the future (more likely, not guaranteed).

Also, I think it'd be an odd double standard to have. If you're a middleman, two people are trusting you with the safety of their transaction, hence you receiving a vouch from both of them. However, under your logic, any users in a middleman should not receive a vouch. The users themselves were not trusted with anything, so why should they receive a vouch? Simple. It shows they engaged in a trade with a middleman to ensure they would be safe. Their intent was not to scam, but rather to have a safe transaction, as we all should want.
