Green Dragon hunting guide(Chaos Rift Edition),30k Combat Exp and 400k gp per hour!

This is my starting gear and inventory. You'll be praying melee while killing the dragons so a decent prayer bonus is required, anything around +20 prayer bonus should be more than fine enough. You can substitute an antifire shield for the dragonfire shield im using and a glory for the fury (is actually faster using a glory) but the general equiptment setup should remain around this line. It's best to use a fury if you have a mounted glory in your house to use, if not then I recommend wearing a glory instead of the fury. A dragon scimitar is more than fine, especially if training strength.

Starting in Edgeville bank, I pot up my attack and strength with the super potions and use 1 dose of antifire potion and bank the remaining potions. The average trip lasts approx. 5-6 minutes for me so the antifire potion almost never wears off by the time im leaving so it works out great for me, if you aren't maxed melee stats you might take a few minutes longer and the antifire potion might wear off, in this case bringing 1-2 monkfish or lobsters should be more than enough to keep you alive and kicking until you're ready to teleport.

The super energy is a large recommendation, I use up 65-70% energy running to the rift so 1 potion (3) is perfect for this. I use house teleport tablets so I can fit an extra hide+bone, you can use the standard runes to teleport to your house if you wish but the cost of 1 teleport tablet is far less than the profit from the extra hides/bones.



From Edgeville bank, run east across the bridge and along the wall for the grand exchange until you arrive at this "dip" in the wall. At this point you're set to hop over the wilderness ditch and run straight north until you come across the entrance to the chaos rift.



The rift is in level 6 Wilderness. Be aware if there's any revenants in the area as they are pretty badass but it seems to be very rare to see *ANY* revenants, let alone one close to my level that can attack me. Click the rope on the Chaos Rift entrance to climb on down into the Rift.



When you climb down you'll arrive in this room full of spiders. They're pretty harmless so ignore them and run to the south end of this room where you'll find 2 portals, click on the "South Eastern" portal to teleport into the Green Dragon room.

ATTENTION: The chaos rift portals *occasionally* malfunction and teleport you to a random room. It doesn't seem to happen very often but this can be a bit of a pain in the backside when it does. If you dont know your way around the rift or have a map onhand id suggest possibly teleporting out and starting over again. This is the only real drawback to this whole process.



Flip on PROTECT FROM MELEE prayer and away you go

This area contains 4 green dragons and numerous baby black dragons. It's a multi combat zone which is why its necessary to pray melee the entire time. I've tried this in +400 defence and using a super defence potion with a few food but found that this method is vastly superior.

With my +25 prayer bonus and stats I use (on average) 60 prayer points during an entire trip. You may use more prayer points depending on stats and equiptment so adjust accordingly, if you have lower melee stats and a lower prayer level (under level 75) you might need to bring a prayer potion with you but hopefully most people with 75+ prayer shouldn't run into a problem.

Green dragons drop charms at approx. a 25% droprate but I dont personally bother picking them up. They also occasionally drop alchable items (rune dagger, adamant items) and 15 nature runes...daggers and natures both being worthwhile to keep as they're worth more in value than a bone or hide.

When you're inventory is filled its time to teleport to your house



Recharge your prayer and teleport back to the bank in Edgeville with either a glory you're wearing or using your mounted glory inside your house.



Bank loot and repeat

SUMMARY:

TIME PER TRIP: Approximately 5-7 minutes, including banking.
PROFIT PER HOUR: I average 120 hides and 120 bones per hour. At current prices thats 480,000 gp
COMBAT XP PER HOUR: Each dragon is 300xp to a specific skill, a bit over 35,000 xp to a chosen skill per hour

Individual results may vary, these are my personal averages with relative ease. I'd guess that people with lower combat stats could still easily average 27,000 combat xp and 350,000gp profit per hour at worst (90 dragons).

For anyone that used to kill green dragons back in the day using the old graveyard teleport and remembers how fast that was for cash, this method is actually faster!

great guide. one question: i have 52 pray, 80 str, 75 atk, 74 def, 78 hp. would this method of pray and no food be affective for me?

Yes pissed, but just in-case for your first run mix around different things, bring an extra monkfish or two etc, and see how you go.

Thanks for all the great responses.

You are using Prayer, so the best melee armor isn't going to matter..

Just get 20+ prayer some how while doing damage well.
(E.G Holy symbols, stoles, initiate armor, etc.)
