Best legit forms of money making.

I am looking to double my cash stack to make my first bil. I currently have almost 500M. It has taken years to get this far but I have made a lot recently investing in a particular item a few weeks ago. Then the bot bust happened and this item skyrocketed and I sold and basically my 100M cash stack went up 5X. I am wondering if I should just flip merchant to double it, or if there is a better way to do it. Would I be better off putting it in a long term investment and going off doing slayer? I really cant do any bosses as I am only 115 combat and no extremes/turm yet, but I do have 99 strength and a rapier which is nice for slayer. Is flip merchanting the most profitable thing to do right now?

So if I did flip merchanting for lets say 3 hours a night, more on weekends, how long would it take to turn my 500M to 1B?

 

Rent a maxed toon and box for a 500m stake. You have a 50/50 chance getting double you're money.

 

I heard that camping at nex / gwd is good way to make money. About merchanting: if you are able find the right items, definitely yes.

 

I am not looking to stake away my money, especially a 50/50 which is basically a joke. Your putting everything you worked hard for into 1 duel that is 99.9% luck. If you lose your screwed, if you win, you have more money to gamble and lose.

Stake 10m at a time

No seriously, if you only stake 1/5 of your bank you can never get cleaned and you can make some good money staking.

 

Buy 500m worth of vials
Fill them all
Sell them

I think your idea of flip merchanting is a good one. The big concern here is also the big advantage here: the Runescape economy has not seen a (mostly) bot-free game in years. If you find out what goods the legit players want that are no longer being massively supplied, you can profit immensely. However, if your flipping doesn't anticipate this, you can lose immensely as well.

However, 500m is more than enough to enjoy the game to its (nearly) full extent. I say your idea of "long-term investment" is a good one and focusing on slayer. There's no reason to focus on your bank completely. You can spend your time flipping items, but do Slayer and other skills you enjoy in addition so that you don't get burnt out.

 

You could try churning butter into cream, that used to be a good method.

 

If you have 500M, flipping at the GE is by far the quickest way to double your cash, hands down.

 

The best way to make money has now gone, what we should have done when the bot nuke happened was buy a lot of natures or other items that are mass-botted since the price of these items has gone through the roof and is continuing, we could of all made a huge amount of gp, more than double! Too late now though

 

Merching is the fastest "safe" way.
Staking is the fastest "risky" way.

 

people keep mentioning 'flipping' its not as easy as it sounds, you need to be able to be able to study the ge graphs accurately to pick out certain items. its not always a matter of selecting any item, buying it for 5% lower and then selling for 5% higher. that being said the best way to legitimately make money on rs is to kill frost dragons

 

Flipping items can make potential 5-10m a hour with 500m stack, but rs is boring when you have 500m +, the whole fun is making money imho.

I see people here talking about flipping, but are describing investing...there is a difference between flipping and investing..

Even though they are both merchanting...Flipping is buying an item and selling it as soon as you buy it for profit...investing is what most people are saying here, which is you invest in an item that you can tell is going to rise, then sell when it does....
