Ryan = Admin

Yes, but the majority of the community and staff wanted you to be promoted. I'm not trying to say that in a bashing manner to Ryan, but this has been the biggest disapproved promotion by the majority of the staff and community I have ever seen.

As thorpe has already commented on was the idea about him being promoted due to having the most initiative to "change the focus of the site" as Ryan called it. By promoting him, he now has a wide range of power to deal with things.

When I first posted on this thread, I was simply pointing out that posting at all wasn't quite necessary, let alone posting the way you did.

On a final note, I think you are perfectly fine for it, I personally don't think you deserved it, but then again, it's not up to me. I've said nothing other than the fact that you seem to boast yourself around this site, and you seem to think you are better than the rest of the community, and better than the rest of the staff. Maybe you aren't like that, you're right, I don't know you, but I can only tell you what people's impressions are of the things you do.

Only time will tell.

Hm. Honestly, out of all the Global Admins, I expected Pen to receive admin next.

Pen does more work, and he's a great help in the Report a Scammer. Not to mention the dispute section as well. Also, something else that should be noted... Everyone likes Pen. Not saying anything against Ryan, but whenever a person that is greatly disliked by a lot of the active members, you can tell something is wrong. Other than Pen, a person more qualified would be Sin666. She's also greatly active, and does pretty much what Pen does, none of which Ryan does.

Why did Ryan get admin out of no where anyways? Compared to other globals, he does little to no work. Are promotions no longer based on activity? Was this done on good will? Or have the standards of becoming an admin simply been lowered?

Ryan, and others, don't take this post as a flame. I'm not taking any sides; I'm not attacking anyone. (Although I believe more qualified people are available.)

 

I agree that sin666 does a great job, but where do you get off saying ryan does no work? He does the MOST in the report a scammer and spammer section. At one stage sythe even told him to leave that section. Please atleast post something contructive containing atleast partial truth.

 

Rubbish. Pen has done exponentially more work in the report sections, and has been doing so for far longer.

Difference being, I wouldn't want it. Pen has done an amazing job though, and if you want my honest opinion, I can't say that Ryan deserved it more.

Even so, Ryan is not disliked. People are just angry because they don't think he deserved the rank. As I said, he probably didn't. But so what? That doesn't mean he won't do well. People should at least give him a chance before they complain.
