Is swapping Gold between FSW and 07 a good idea with a prior temp ban?

Hi there,

I know that Jagex has said you are allowed to swap gold between FSW and 07 but it has left me wondering if this is a good idea due to me having a temp ban from RWT in the past.

What do you all think? Because it surely it could just look like RWT..? And I don't know how you would prove that it is in fact a gold swap between FSW and 07.

 

Not to mention. Current bond prices for FSW 07 are 2.1m~, if you did a 1:4 or even 1:5 swap rate to OSRS you are getting far more GP per irl $. Am I missing something here?

Swapping has existed through a lot of the game modes such as Deadman mode.

Jagex has confirmed that they will not ban for swapping for those particular game modes.

It is different for FSW.

The rules for FSW (found here) state the following:

Transfers between Accounts: your FSW Game Account is a stand-alone Account. Any form of transfers between Accounts, including transfers of Virtual Currencies, rewards, balances, micro-game credits and virtual items to other Accounts is expressly prohibited until you migrate your FSW Game Account back to the main RuneScape game. This will happen automatically at the end of the FSW Game season (see below) or you can migrate your Account at any point prior to that should you wish to.

This does not mean people abide by the rules. People still swap regardless of the rules. That is the risk they take. My opinion is that Jagex cannot even detect such things. A reddit post that confirms my opinion can be found here. Just take a look at the Mod comment.

Yes, the incentive of swapping is to get more money. It is lucrative that way for people who do not care about participating in the game mode but just want to make money on the game mode that they play for example, people may play OSRS FSW and get someone to swap their OSRS FSW gold for OSRS gold at a rate of 1:20. This means that they are making more per hour playing that game mode than they are doing high level pvming.

I do just want to point out that Jagex themselves have said that it is not bannable according to this page .
They clearly state that it is indeed NOT bannable, yet it did make me confused as I don’t see how they would see the difference between a legitimate swap and a RWT.

 

just want to make it clear that the above that I mentioned is specifically for 07. I can’t comment on RS3 but it looks like the link you originally posted is for RS3. Interesting that the two have complete opposite approaches

 

Quite interesting. Sorry, I completely ignored the fact that you mentioned OSRS. RS3 is my main game so I just focused on that.

Yes, it does seem according to your post that Jagex is not taking action against swapping for OSRS.

It is hard to say how they detect RWT. I think if you are concerned then you should play within their advice (which is not to swap). If not, just take the risk.
