Running an HTML document upon connection to router

Okay, so I just got a new Netgear N300 Wireless Dual Band Router.

I was thinking, when you connect to a restaraunt's wifi they have a webpage that is the first thing that pops up when you connect to the router.

My question is, how do you make an HTML document that has to be viewed upon connection to the network?

    Thank you

P.S. I wanna write a quick simple HTML that has links to My Network on the connectors computer so they can immediatley view all my files being hosted on my server (400 gigs of stuff)

You can't do this without custom software.

    Check out ddwrt.

There's really no other option. That's pretty much impossible. If you really wanted to do so, you could probably turn another computer into a router, provided you had the right hardware (all you need is at least two nics) but that's more than likely too much effort for such a simple thing.

There's gotta be a way because the restaurant I work at has a shitty ass old linksys that they do it with. Unless you think they are running ddwrt.

Is there any pay software or anything that allows custom firmware?
