    -What is Joomla?
Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone.

    -What do you need?

    X - Before Installation :

    -Upload Joomla

    • Extract the downloaded Joomla installation to your computer.
    • log in to your hosting account with the FTP software (usually you need to use the server name – this will be your domain name and the username + password)
    • upload all the extracted files to the hosting

    IMPORTANT:

You need to decide if you want Joomla to be installed on your domain or your sub domain, if you want in to be installed on your domain so upload the files to your root directory (www.yourdomain.com)
but if you want Joomla to be installed on your sub domain then create a sub domain and upload all the file there (subdomain.yourdomain.com) or to a sub directory (www.yourdomain.com/joomla).

After you finished uploading Joomla to the server you need to create a MYSQL database.

    -MySql Username & Password

    • Log in to your cpanel account
    • click on the “MySQL Databases” icon.
    • click on the link to “Add Database” and type in a name for the new database.
    • Click on the link to “Add User” and type in a user-name and password.
    • Assign the privileges necessary to gain access to your new database.

    X - Joomla Installation:

Step 1 – Start you web browser & Go To Installation page.

Step 4 - Now you need to enter information to configure your database.
    For the hostname, use “localhost”
Enter your MySQL database name, => username and password.
For the MySQL prefix, use “jos_” .

If this is your very first Joomla installation, Click in the box to “Install Sample Data”, if you tried it before than you can skip it.

Step 5 - Enter your domain name and then click on “Next”.
Confirm your website’s URL, the pathname, email address and your password.
