I quit about 2 months ago. Not cause I felt like it was taking over me, I only played like 5 hours a week max.

I quit because:

-Jagex Made the shittiest Updates, there's so many untested updates that put out bugs that may result in people getting insanely rich, or people losing bills and Jagex not doing anything about it, even if it's their own fault.

I agree, they really have put out some terrible updates, but also some decent ones to with them. Bug abuse is something they try to stop; sadly this will always be an issue as they can't forsee everything. I highly agree though about Jagex not giving a shit, even in cases of people losing items due to a glitch they say they "have no system to replace items," thats a load of bull and they know it.


-They care too much about profiting off of the game instead of making it a better, cleanlier, friendlier enviornment (Membership prices have risen drastically) Agreed, they loyalty program/perks for buying membership is a step in the wrong direction if you ask me.

-It lags like hell
For a 100% online game not really, I only have dsl and I can run it on high detail without too bad of lag.

-Pking sucks; constitution is a fucking gay, there are too many overpowered weapons (korasi, claws, etc), 1 itemers, rushers

Pking doesn't really suck; infact its one of the only thigs that doesen't suck! Korasi,claws,etc are necessary or every fight would end in a tele, would be awful. Also with torva/virtus/pernix crashing it will even out soon. The real question is how are they going to make a stronger wep without ruining dungeoneering? Possibly add it in to dg?

-FUCKING DICERS (even though dicing is removed, it didn't affect gambling at all due to flower games, horsey, and dragon dyce hosts its on IRC dicing chat)
Whats wrong with dicers? I have gone there and made 30M into 1.6B then into 10m again. Just use reputable cc's and if you still have no trust go staking! Your not supposed to go bet at that level 72 in a dchain in the middle of the ge silly >.>

-Scammers; how many times do you see "doubling money-legit" or "flower game x5" around Varrock? It's just sad and annoying.

Yep, its fucking annoying I agree. You won't stop them, soon as they remove flowers they will be following people around with another scam/asking for money. Just turn your public to "hide" in the GE like I do.

My main is currently level 138, what do you mean they don't do shit? I have obviously played forever. I don't really talk to people in-game anyways(usually over skype/msn)

Im actually working towards max total right now, typically I don't wear anything but a fury and a sol and sometimes a phat if I feel like being harrased.

All in all, I fucking hate Runescape. I know I'll get a shit ton of hate and trollers, but I'm okay with it. And besides, there's a record number of people quitting. 2012 is going to be the starting of the worst years of Runescape to come. The only people going to be playing RuneScape in a couple years from now are going to be 99% of the newly attracted players who get drawn in from advertisements and graphical updates, while all the old and loyal players eventually quit because they're tired of the shitty game.

The old and 'loyal' players - will be there no matter what.

So, thats it. I'm selling my accounts. You can check em out if you'd like. I am not being hypocritical by selling my account, I know it's RWT but this is a one time thing. I sell it, and quit. I'm not selling gold on a consistent basis so it's barely as harmful as RWT
Oh and if anyone knows a good private server or a version of 2006, old school Runescape I could play, let me know. I know rs2006 is coming out, but i feel like that will take like a year or so more to come out.

Nice detailed reply. As far as the disagreements: we all have our own opinions. And yes, I did pull that figure out of my ass. But it's substantially true, I'm willing to bet on the fact that over 3/4 of the current rs players are under the age of 14.
