my computer is really slow.....why?

hi, over the past few days my computer has gotton unbelivablely slow. i mean its so slow that youtube videos dont even load anymore. they use to load as soon as i clicked on them. but its not just youtube its my whole computer, sythe takes ages to load, runescape takes ages to load and even just getting an internet page up takes ages. i have broadband and this has never happened before. is there anything i can do to fix it? got any suggestions on what might be wrong or how to fix this? im starting to get pissed off at my computer lol i can hardly do anything on it anymore

 

Ok these things should make your computer run faster.

1. Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Cleanup
When its finished loading check all of them and press next.

2. Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Defragmenter
Right click volume C: and click defragment.

3. Start | Control Panel | Add Remove Programs
Delete programs that you no longer use.

4. If you have your OS CD put it in .
Start | Run | cmd | sfc /scannow

5. If you are looking for a more drastic approach you can reinstall your OS

Same problem happened with me once, it was because a wire connecting my computer to internet box was damaged.

It can also be a virus/spyware, go to www.google.com and look up search and destroy, it is a free ware program that is better then most the paid for programs that I have used in the past.

Try removing some of the larger, unnecessary programs from your computer that could be ''clogging'' it up.

You could be infested with a Trojan or Worm, use a well known anti-spyware program like Avast! to clean your system.

The speed in the internet depends on some factor which are - the rate of your computer process the data(ram) , the speed of your client server(internet line) and your browser stability. Well if all of this are in perfect condition,perhaps you got malicious software/viruses that just got in your computer and taking all the cpu processes needed to load the web page. Perhaps it will be good if you virus scan your computer and clean your computer from spywares. However,it will take some time to finish the whole scan due to the viruses and spyware. But,if you have deleted them then it is believed your pc will back at normal speed. If you find that it is very slow to make a scan perhaps you should go to window task manager and terminate any suspicious processes that takes a lot of cpu memory but yet its cpu memory are low (1000k example). You are recommended to use the task manager if only your an advanced user in pc. Any termination of processes that is run by the system can lead to system instability or even force shut down.
