polypore staking

Could someone explain what this is i have no idea, also i heard about a d claw scam in the duel arena could anyone shed some light on this? How to do it?
Are there any other ways of scamming at duel arena? In OSRS or rs3

Are you asking in order to prevent getting scammed or because you want to scam other players?

 

I want to anti scam, i wouldn't be doing the scam myself
i haven't played rs in ages so don't even know what polypore is, is it mage and what lvl do you need for it?

 

Although i doubt i'll be doing anything as i don't have any accounts with high enough stats so it's mostly just out of curiosity why everyone at duel arena is saying polypore staking and how it all works?

 

You need 99 magic, defence and HP in order to do Polypore stakes. The issue with polypore stakes, or and weapon stake for that matter is:

The scammer will use "stalls". Stalls are items that are used in a specific way in o order to secure last hit, aka PID.

The scammer will ask for an inventory check meaning that you show your inventory so neither can bring stalls. You send a trade request, then a challenge request.

He will accept trade and you will both show items. Then he will accept challenge so the trade screen will go directly to the challenge screen to assure that none of you bring in items that can give an advantage.

The thing is that the scammer will send you a trade request on 1 account and a challenge request with another account with a similar name.

So when you show items in trade window to make sure you don't have any other items you will end up accepting the challenge with his other account. That account will have stalls and better items such as a seismic wand + shield perhaps instead of a polypore staff.

RS3 is really broken and items are unbalanced. The scammers are up to date regarding the items that are best at the time so anti scamming is really risky.

I have nowhere near those stats, one thing i'm still unsure about is what items are stalls? And can you use stalls in 07 in order to gain PID/last hit?

 

I'm not familiar with the stalls that are currently used, sorry. Just ask around and someone might share it seeing how certain stalls are publicly known.

DON'T pay for stalls. Some players might try to sell you stalls. Only reason for why they are doing it is because it's getting more and more known and they want to make some quick GP before it's leaked to the public.

 

Stalls got different lengths. Some stalls lasts for 1 tick while other stalls might last for 9 ticks. Long stalls are mostly used in weapon stakes seeing how the chance of killing the opponent is way higher than in box stakes where you tend to hit more zeros.

The risk of using longer stalls is that you may not hit high enough to kill your opponent and you end up giving your opponent free hits because you won't be able to hit during the stall delay.

 

So are stalls essentially a glitch?
I wont be paying but where could I go to find out what items are used? Do you knpw of any previous items used as stalls just so I can get an idea?

Yes, stalls are a glitch. They get patched by J-Mods. It might take months before a J-Mod gets around to patch them but it does happen.

Stalls are items that create some sort of animation when you interact with them. Few examples of stalls that have been used in the past:

Burying bones
Spreading ashes
Enchanting Emerald rings
Usin Bones to Peaches tabs with bones
Cutting branches.

Various quest items that are made/enchanted etc can work as a stall.
It's all about trial and error if you personally want to discover new stalls.

Yes, stalls sit in your inventory and you use them when the time is right, as in the time when the winner can be determined by whoever got PID. Just look around on youtube and you will most likely find staking videos where stalls are used.

 

Still a little confusing can you link me to any vids where stalls are used?
And if youre burying bones or somethig during a duel wouldnt that just stall yourself not your opponent?
