Runescape log in screen- Freezes on "connecting to update server". How to fix?

Ok when Im on my school computers the runescape login screen always stops working at connecting to update server, it just does nothing. You can leave it for a few minutes and it has not changed at all.

Can anyone help? Whats causing the problem and how to fix it? Is it something to do with the firewall?

 

un the reinstall java and then try again, make sure ur filter doesn't block it alot thats prolly it. Most schools have a filter blocking java scripts

 

You could try using unsigned java - that's what I do when I'm at school

 

I forgot to mention in my first post. I AM using unsigned Java. Any other ideas?

Reboot the pc...always fixes the problem if not try un-install java and re-install it.

ok all that was rather useless, I believe its a firewall blocking me, is there any way i might be able to bypass the firewall (I believe there isnt but i just want to check)?

 

school comupters are designed so u cannot go on games. thats why u are unable to....try using a proxy?

Account that was absolutely pointless, Baker i dont see that theres going to be any difference using firefox to ie, theyre both just web browsers

 

Just don't play at school...... There are better things to be doing in school time like uhmm LEARNING. But it's most probably a problem with Java Script (No idea on how to fix), or the computers have a outdated version of Java installed hence forth go download the latest.
