    Best alternative MSN client?

I can't use Microsoft Messenger anymore, since my list has gotten to the point where it can barely load, and dies if someone tries talking to me. I've been using Adium instead - but it won't let me initiate add requests (It lies. It claims the other person doesn't exist).

Are there any mac-compatible MSN clients that can handle large lists that don't suck?

meebo.com is a browser based MSN client that allows you to sign on to multiple IM clients at once in the same browser window.

It's pretty useful... if you're lookin for a download tho go with ebuddy.

Skype is badass and can definitely handle huge lists plus never dies on you.

Even YIM is browser based and with their recent update, it has gotten much better. It used to be glitched when adding other users but now I have had any problems accepting invites etc. I currently have 1948 contacts so that's an idea how many it can handle.

Apart from MSN and Adium, I can only think of one MSN client for Macs (I had done some research earlier when I just bought my Mac): Proteus. Although I haven't actually tested it, I'm sure it can handle long contact lists as it has the option to customize contact lists.

Thanks for the suggestion, but Proteus does not seem to offer MSN - apparently it's supposed to, but the service isn't listed as one of the options. :s
