Devotion and Ancient Curses?

So the new 'devotion' ability gives you a 100% boost for 'protection prayers' for 20 secs.

Does this also apply to ancient curses or not? I can't find info on this anywhere.

 

Why would it not? Deflect from melee, mage and range are protection prayers.

They are the 'counterparts' of the 4 protection prayers and are termed 'deflect curses'.

I just want this ability to only affect normal prayers, so there would be an incentive to actually use then from time to time, rather than curses.

 

From what I've read from the devotion Wiki page, I'd assume that it's Protection Prayers only but, seeing as how I don't use my renown for anything but lamps, I can't test it out.

 

It does work for deflect curses as well. It even says so on the wiki when using Vorago as an example.

"Devotion will block all the damage from Vorago's magic or melee attacks (whichever you are currently protecting/deflecting against)."

 

I would *assume* so, but you never know with Jagex, or it could potentially be bugged.

 

yes it works for deflect curses, great at vorago.

 

It works just as it does the other prayer book.

 

It works with curses and prayers too. I've tested it in duel arena with some friends. I mean... He did it... Then owned me. XD

It'll work for any protection prayer, and the curses will be classed as protection prayers (deflect melee/range/mage).

 

It works at KK so yeah it does cooperate with ancient curses as well.
