Hi guys, this is my new Design, what do you guys think? and my Logo Any improvements? like font style or colours? It was a 5min job, so not the best.
Well first thing, I would recommend putting in more time into the design. Especially if one were to ask for feedback. I see a lot of new designers brag about how quick they made the design and then show of something very basic, in which is difficult to give criticism without bashing the person. The design itself isn't really eye catchy and that's not necessarily because of the monotone color scheme. The icon itself has some issues on the bottom part of it, for example the engine (Well for me that is). To be honest, the only solid feedback I could give you right now is to play with it more and spend more time on it and make better use of a focal point. Keep it up though. Hope to see more of you.
I understand that you're new to design. However, spending 5 minutes on a piece of work and then asking for feedback on it is kind of odd and strange. Why? because you barely put any effort into the work itself. As for the piece itself, this looks very low quality, or rather cheap because of the design decisions you have made which are as follows: - Runescape gold text looks outrageous with these borders, remove them. - The stealth market text has a thick outline, which makes it look visually appalling. - The coins are poorly integrated, it's not lined up with the text and the sizing doesn't serve it right. The f22 Logo: - The shaping isn't smooth, those corners are poorly executed. - The f22 text, why is it there? text integration makes it look a lot worse, you should make the logo smaller and the text beneath it. I can write a lot about this work describing many reasons why it's lacking. But in summary, you really need to look at inspiration work on Behance. Emulation is the key to improving in design. Start off by copying the quality of other pieces of work, replicate their steps (the color, the approach, etc..) I recommend you to avoid asking for feedback on any work you do if you're willing to spend 5 minutes or less on it. You need to put more effort, and raise your personal standards on the work you do.
I don't feel like he's bragging about it in any way, more like giving a reasoning for the simplicity behind it. This does limit your chances of actual feedback because there isn't much to give feedback about. (imagine a cook asking for feedback on instant noodles) If you're asking if a different font would've been better, then it's important that we have context around said font. Font choice is something that should be based around the design, if you get where i'm going with this. Nearly any font could work on a dark stripe pattern backdrop if you like the font itself. Always hold shift while free transforming to keep the aspect ratio, coins indeed are stretched out horizontally and it looks weird. Use rulers to line up with text or elements (ctr+r to toggle i think). Definitely do your own thing, If you feel it should be inside then by all means try to make it work. Maybe it's not so much him not being willing to spend more time, just not knowing what else he could've done to it. Keep asking for feedback and don't get discouraged, even if it is a 10 minute piece. Just try checking yourself if there is alot of feedback to be given in the first place. I don't know anyone who's first work was A+ so just keep it up and try learning new techniques, keep looking up tutorials, etc. Looking forward to seeing more of you!
There is certainly no wrong in advising or suggesting better methods or ways that improve the work from my personal perspective. Whether the user applies these suggestions that's up to him or her. On another note, I am not expecting a first time user to create A+ work. This is the feedback section and I left criticism that I thought that may help the user. I don't leave feedback frequently on online platforms due to the arising of miss-understandings. It's sort of difficult to articulate honest feedback without potentially hurting the person behind the piece of work. ---EDIT--- @OP please do not feel discouraged at all to keep practicing and dedicate time to creating new design work. Just trying to help you.
Thanks guys for the feedback, and no I'm not really a designer myself Only done this so I could have something to replace the default user image However, I will spend more time on it and experiment with some other stuff
