Rune Pickaxe vs. Drag Pickaxe.

Is the drag. pickaxe really worth the 10mil+?
how much faster is the drag pickaxe vs the rune?

currently mining coal, but looking to further my mining to addy since im lvl 73 mining.

Is it worth it though?

 

Look at it like htis.
You buy the pickaxe, Use it, Sell it.

There's no actual loss upon using it as long as it's not crashing.

 

Drag pick is about 10% faster.

Definitely since the time you save will be eliminate any time you waste making back the money you may or may not lose when reselling the pick.

Rune pickaxe isn't THAT much slower. I still prefer rune > dragon.

I think I'm gona invest in one. Couldn't hurt specially when I start mining rune.
I currently have about 5mil.

Any suggestions on how to get the rest?
I made that all mining coal.

 

Well since you're mining anyway, why not do runite?

If you don't have the level just powermine until you do have 85.

 

Just sell the dragon pickaxe after use overall the time you will have saved by using it will make up for the loss of money in pickaxe or maybe even profit

 

Two problems with that theory.
Only level 75 mining.
Powermining - kind of out of the question for money making haha

Currently, I get 1 coal per 2-3 "ticks" and they say the drag pickaxe is about 1-2 "ticks" faster, so theoretically I could get coal in half the time with a drag pickaxe. Therefore cut the time I have to get lvl 85 mining in half.

 

Well I guess you're stuck mining essence or coal for cash then, lol.

 

lol, on a positive note, by the time i get the money for a drag pickaxe (mining coal) ill be 85 mining, so it works out perfectly

 

^This. It's definitely worth the buy if you have the money.

 

I used both rune and dragon pickaxes at LRC.

When using a dragon pickaxe, I got around 5k - 10k exp more per hour. So I highly recommend it.

 

Keep mining until you can afford a dragon pickaxe, and then buy it.

After you're membership is expiring, or you don't need it anymore, then you can sell it again for almost the same price.

 

i total agree with this. the time you save you could make more money than what drag axe might fall while u get mining up.
definitely worth it.

 

im pretty sure but not 100% but i was told that dragon pickaxe is 15% faster than rune, so if ur mining you may aswell buy one there 11-12m and IMO worth it

it sure is it makes my xp go up by 4k-8k and like wogsrus said if your mining then why not?

 

Get it and keep it, by the time your 99 from using it you probably won't be worried about loosing it, and you have a advantage over others

 

I can't believe people actually ask this question. It's not like you're stuck with the thing forever... and even if you were, it's not like it costs an insane amount.

 

The dragon pickaxe is about 10-15% faster than adze/rune
