I don't believe that every user who isn't staff should be subjected to the moderation queue in moderated forums like Community General. To this end, I propose that users with ex-moderator, ex-administrator, highly trusted, or highly respected ranks should NOT be subject to thread moderation, unless they are severe troublemakers (in which case, don't award them any of these ranks in the first place).

We have proven that we aren't going to misuse these forums, so I believe that our activities should not be probated in any forum.

TLDR: users with ranks indicating respect, trust, etc. should be exempt from the moderation queue.

so you should not get infractions is what ur saying?

edit: and if you proved yourself so well, most likely you wouldn't be an ex anything.

You're pretty incompetent. People with the "ex" ranks obviously obtained it by proving their worth. Haven't you noticed the troublemaking ones are the ones without the "ex" ranks?

No... Only the moderators who truly contribute get the ex-mod rank.

Usually if they are ex mods they don't come on here too much, so it's really not necessary.

I also agree, i usually come and go, and decide to post some news, but the delay is pointless and boring.

Its annoying as hell. There isn't more spam there than other sections. Why not just remove it for everyone and see how it goes?

How many threads do ex-mods really make in the community general section?

where is my ex-rank?.. Don't I cause enough trouble?.. In lack of the rank, an infraction will do as I do not feel the suggestion that big of an issue.

Too bad this only affects 1/1000000000 of the forum users?
We'd only be making like 30 people happy... and most normal users don't even have ranks of highly respected/trusted... meh
Although I agree, but is this too much of a stress to warrant a change? My answer, yes, but not immediately.

I don't think it's something that's necessary, but i guess if a lot of ex-mod's and the other specified ranks wanted this privilege i don't see any harm

Thanks for the support Vic, Chris and SuF!

Other people: yeah, we seldom post, but when we do, we should be exempt from the queue. Implementing this wouldn't be difficult at all - I was an admin here for over a year; I know it's not hard to change usergroup permissions.

I think its a fair call, i guess this would also go to the OMM's as well?

Seem like something that you've earned and therefore deserve.

    Best of luck =)

Its a decent suggestion, I think keeping the moderation queue is necessary.. they're the first sections a newcomer would see and having them filled with spam (when a mod isnt here) could lead to a bad reputation.. However, such as yourselves (ex-admins/mods) should be exempt.. you've contributed enough.

No, that's not what he's saying at all. He's saying that people with such ranks shouldn't have to have threads in the community general section approved.

Because people never have other things to do in life that leave them unable to moderate the site to the best of their abilities.

This is also a good idea. Having the wait there simply discourages people from using the section.

Agreed, it is a pain in the ass when you want to make a thread in there.

I don't see why people wouldn't agree; it would take 30 seconds to change and make users who have contributed to the site happy.
