    Just curious as to how would you code it? I have no clue but thinking of trying to create my own gold website over the summer. Can anyone link me to decent guides or tell me how to do it?

    You could either just use someone else's script ( easy option )


    Or you'd have to use a mix of ajax/php for database entries & retrievals.

    Either way it's not too difficult. However, buying a script will likely be more secure.

    You don't really wanna be building a live chat with php/ajax + you'll be paying for hosting.

    Two good choices -

    socket.io or some live chat company that you just embed a script and they handle the rest.
