Wow, this is big. Read On.

    New Zealand PC World reports:

One unique trait of MMO’s (massive multiplayer online) is that the games carry no classification (15+, 18+ etc), because it’s impossible to rate online interactions. Now the Attorney-Generals office is New South Wales have pointed out that the NSW Classification Enforcement Act prohibits publishers and retailers from selling unclassified games , thereby making most game stores in the state an instant criminal.

The Intereractive Entertainment Association of Australia, however, believes that games with no single player portion should be exempt from carrying a rating.

The NSW police, no doubt keen not to waste recourses on enforcing the law, are encouraging members of the community to contact local police if they see retailers selling these MMO’s.

So, virtually every game store across Australia is now effectively breaking the law.

    GG Australia !!!

I was saying to him that obviously all sales haven't ceased production. Most laws take a while to take effect.

New South Wales is not equal to the rest of Australia - as far as I know I can still buy it in Queensland?

Apparently, nation-wide if shops are selling it you are advised to contact your local police companies. This is bullshit, stupid governments.

No, i'm telling you not swear it's faul and unneeded, and i'm not telling you what to do i'm suggesting you don't do it i should of just reported you; so don't post it.
also, i've done a tad bit of research and they've banned MMO's that are unrated, so Wow and ect that's right, it's actualy correct just dis-order and missing some infomation but fairly correct a shop can't sell you WoW anymore untill they put a rating on it.

Show us a source. Also for a rule like this to be implemented it would take a while. You cannot say to the public to report there stores, as they would need some sort of compensation. Fail troll is fail.

Google it's true, they have banned Wow, because it's unrated and you can't sell unrated games nor movies, so they took it off the shelfs. pritty bad eh?

Here is a link to the article:

    http://www.smh.com.au/news/technolo...legal-minefield/2009/02/03/1233423203018.html

For all people, Sydney Morning Herald is like a Shitass Newspaper who no-one reads. I saw WoW for sale today in a Big Mall, so no offence but they aren't true.

Well that's bad for blizzard, they would probably loose a lot of money if Wow will really be banned from AUS.
