    is RWT punishable by Law?

As some of you may new, I have recently decided to stake in order to donate money to japan (stake rs, get more rs cash, sell, donate) I have recently created a youtube video explaining what I am going to be doing

Now, the thing I am worried about is if I show to the world that I am going to real world trade, then can I actually be puished legally? Idgaf about getting banned, but is rwting illegal? at all? Btw, I am from The U.S.A, if that affects the situation.

I a glad to get any response, but please only respond if you are fully aware of the possible consequences of rwt any sources would be helpful as well but not compulsory :)

In China it is, but it's not punishable by law as far as I'm concerned.

Unless maybe you could over a million dollars worth, but even still no law from my memory for punishes it.

It depends on whether or not Jagex has taken the appropriate steps to protect their property (through copyright) in a certain country. As far as I know, you're safe in the U.S., but they're in the middle of a case with RSBots and this issue was brought up, meaning copyrighting of their property could be in the U.S.'s near future. You're safe for now. Even if it was illegal, there isn't a very high chance of you being caught for it. Some gold sellers sell billions a month and have been doing that for a while.

I appreciate it man :) I've also got it on my RSBuddy forum account. If you have Facebook, you should make a page for it. Call it something like "Staking for Relief" and I can like and promote it.

I'd love to make this cause as known as it possibly can be. It's an amazing thing that you're doing. Let me know if you need anything else :p I can't really help as far as monetary donations go, but I can definitely help in the way of promotion :) Good luck with everything.

You're breaking the ToS you signed, so, yes it's punishable by law. Will action step in? Most likely not.

I think that would only be civil action, not criminal. So you couldn't go to jail, but they could try to sue you.

It would probably be pretty difficult for them to win any real money out of you and I highly doubt they will expend the resources to try.

Oh Pockets, they can sue you yes, not jail worthy though. They would have high chances to sue whatever you got AT LEAST from selling the GP though.

Of the thousands of real world traders, I think you'd be last on the list if you're donating the money. That would be horrible press for Jagex. ;)

    What about tax evasion?
Not having your customers(who buy the gold) not pay sales tax?

I had that in the back of my mind for a while now, and reading your post made me think of it.

So I wonder.. can you get screwed for tax evasion?

^ Was going to say that. Depends where you live, but not declaring it if its over a certain amount (i.e. your jurisdictions threshold) is an offence - well at least where I live. Slim chance you'll be pulled up.

As was said before you are in breach of the ToS you signed when you made your account(s) and jagex can pursue you in a civil action - however it wouldn't be cost effective for them to do so, so no problem there I guess.

Remember the gold isn't yours it's Jagex's intellectual property and I suppose also their physical property.

So a slim chance you'll be pulled up on any of this - best of luck (above is just my opinion not my advice).

Nah, you can't be pulled up for tax evasion... He's donating the cash. I highly doubt the law would get involved if you were only making a few hundred a month and your under the age of 18.

If you're over the earnings threshold you have to declare it, regardless of whether its going to charity (Well at least where I live). But to be honest he's not going to 'get into trouble' for anything that he's doing.
