    RS & Computer question

I've always been told not to leave a computer on overnight. However I've just bought a new PC and I leave it on whilst botting, is it safe? Sorry if its a stupid question, just the way I've been brought up.

    RS & Computer question

Can you post the PC Specs please, generally if your computer is running overnight it's fine aslong it is well ventilated which obviously would prevent overheating. The only badside to keeping your computer on overnight is the cost of the electricity.

Hopefully you found this useful, but you should be okay.

    RS & Computer question

Provided it has adequate cooling, your computer should be fine.

Good new computers now come with a cooling system, I would safe it's safe unless you abuse it.

    This.

Your only worry is overheating. If you have a newer computer hopefully it has a thermometer on it and a history taking of highs that it may hit.

Fine, just don't run other resource heavy programs overnight, and as other members stated above ventilation is key.

I've never ran my PC for 24hrs purely because I think it may compromise the life of the components - in a weird way.

    RS & Computer question

You guys are terrible when it comes to PCS!!!!!!!

What you should do if you plan on using 90-100% of it's cpu. - Search for prime95

    1. Grab a program that will stress test your cpu for 1 hour at 100%>

    2. If within 1 hour your pc doesn't crash you can leave your pc open for as long as you see fit. - if it does crash look for better cooling and if your CPU is overclocked, clock it down a bit.

    Hope this helped.

Usually pc's overheat when your cpu is overclocked. And leaving a pc with your specs on 24/7 Should be no problem at all ~.~

As long as you don't have a shitty fan, or an overloaded CPU, you should be fine.

My laptop stays on for days and days and days at a time, and only gets shut down for Windows Updates, when a program prompts me to for installation/uinstallation, or if some programs start acting weird and I use restarting as a troubleshooting step. I usually run iDung, or 1-2 VMs running RiD bots. I usually stick around ~20-40% CPU, and my vents on my laptop are huge.

Normal load CPU + good fan + good airflow = fine for running overnight.

Also, random note, I've left my iMac on, without restarting, for weeks before. It's fine as long as your cooling system isn't shit and your CPU isn't maxed out.

I'd suggest you download HWMonitor and let it on for a night, and check your temperatures the next day. If none of the temps are too high, it's all mkay.

All of these programs that people are saying to download are a waste of time. Have proper cooling with the setup you have and you will be fine. Considering your specs you probably won't be able to run many bots though.

I keep all sides to my PC open and the tower itself sitting on the floor as it is cool. That along with keeping up with your thermal paste on the CPU and you're fine :D

Yeah, it's fine, i leave mine auto-alching loads, just make sure there's clear room for the fans/vents.
