    Help With Paypal

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right section or not, please move if it is please.

I recently sold a RuneScape account. The guy took along time to send the money, I knew something was up after the trade. I sent half of it to a friend I owed money to, then I bought something for $5 on ebay. I did all this in about 15 minutes. Then I went to send the money to a check and I got an error. I went to look at my fund and they have been "reversed" of what was left on my Paypal after sending and buying something.

I have complete proof they buyer has the account and I got the money just fine. I have 2 screenshots and a full video of the trade. I couldn't open a dispute on the reversed funds, so I contacted Paypal via email. They replied by telling me to call, I sent back saying I'm not very good talking on phones (this is really true I tend to studder quite often and I'm uncomfortable). After a day they sent back telling me to read the agreement, I did so and found this:

"4.4 Risk of Reversals, Chargebacks and Claims. When you receive a payment, you are liable to PayPal for the full amount of the payment sent to you plus any Fees if the payment is later invalidated for any reason. This means that, in addition to any other liability, you will be responsible for the amount of the payment sent by the sender, plus the applicable Fees listed in Section 8 (Fees) of this Agreement if you lose a Claim or a Chargeback or if there is a Reversal of the payment. You agree to allow PayPal to recover any amounts due to PayPal by debiting your Balance. If there are insufficient funds in your Balance to cover your liability, you agree to reimburse PayPal through other means. If a sender of a payment files a Chargeback, the credit card issuer, not PayPal, will determine who wins the Chargeback."

I didn't quite understand this statement. Basically it's saying I'm responsible and I have to pay the funds back?

I have delta with a chargeback before by providing proof to Paypal. I won the case and got my money back. I don't understand why I can't provide proof this time and get money back?

I need a better understanding if someone can tell me how to get my funds back. I can take screenshots of what it looks like if they are requested. Sorry this is a long message, I just wanted to explain as much as I can for help. I know some people here really know Paypal and can hopefully help me.

    Thank you.

Because you sent the money on and the money was later charged back by the original sender, you're now held liable to Paypal to pay the person(s) you sent money to. It's not your fault, but Paypal is very awkward to do business with if you're not trading with trusted users. You likely wont see the money again.

Even though you say you feel uncomfortable calling, I would give them a call anyway. You most likely won't receive your funds back, but it doesn't hurt to try. They usually put more focus on your case if you give them a call, rather than just submitting evidence online and playing the waiting game.

    Help With Paypal

It wasn't because I sent the money. The person that paid me fore the account reversed the payment so the sender got his money back and got my account. Now I'm in the negative. So I still have to pay something even though I got scammed out of this trade?

I will be calling by Tuesday if no reply from Paypal by then.
