    Best guitarist besides Slash?

I've been wanting to make this topic for a very long time. Who do you think is the best guitarist besides Slash? I personally think Herman Li of Dragonforce is, but that's my personal opinion. How about you?

hermin li plays fast nothing to skillful, and slash is nowhere near the best.

    some of the best =

    yngwie malmsteen
    michael angelo batio
    bucket head
    alexi laiho
    kirk hammet
    john petrucci

just a few who I believe to be better than him.

    Best guitarist besides Slash?

I personally think Herman Li, is amazing. Just because of the fact that he can play lightning fast.

I agree with everyone's opinions except that slash is best followed by Herman Li. As stated above me, Herman Li is amazingly fast, but imo it doesn't sound musical. I think that Slash is near the top, but none can best Hendrix.

ROFL Herman Li doesn't even know how to play live - have you ever even been to a Dragonforce concert? Of course not!

Best guitarists (in no real particular order):

    Dimebag (Pantera)
    John Petrucci (Dream Theater)
    Kirk Hammet (Metallica)
    Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)
    Slash (G'nR)
    Jimi Hendrix/Eric Clapton

And then a bunch of REAL power metal guitarists (not Dragonforce)

you're correct, he has also had a solo career off and on for a while.

anyone can play lightning fast, honestly anyone I posted can play as fast if not faster than him, they just rather use talent than raw speed. which makes for a better sound.

Yes, Buckethead does appear to be in Guns N' Roses from time to time. I'm not sure if he has ever made any official recordings previously with the band, and I know he doesn't tour with the rest of them that often, but I've heard they have met up before and done some great shows. I've also heard he plays in at least 1 or 2 of the songs on Chinese Democracy. :D

Buckethead is nasty, but lacks variety IMO. He's one of the greatest shredders of all time, fine - but he doesn't have enough variety for me to just like sit down and listen to his entire CD straight through. On the other hand, Dream Theater's guitarist John Petrucci has probably the best combination of speed and musicality when playing the guitar IMO.

I don't think you could classify someone as 'the best' but there are thousands upon thousands extremely talented guitarists. Some of my favorites are Muhammed Suicmez, Steve Vai, Roman Saenko, Mikael Akerfeldt, list goes on...

Okay guys, next time you are on YouTube, search for "Adam Fulara." This guy can do things that are absolutely NUTS with his guitar; he doesn't create his own music, but as far as talent goes, his double-neck tapping routine is just absolutely ridiculous.
